Deputy Manager (RN)

Location: Gloucestershire House - Cheltenham
Employment type: Fixed term / secondment
Job type: Full time, Monday - Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm.
Salary: £19.45 per hour; £38,031 for 37.5 hours per week

This temporary post is available to cover the Maternity leave of the substantive post holder for approximately 6 months. A great opportunity to gain management and leadership experience to progress your future career. Ideally we would like someone to start as soon as possible but can be flexible with this for the right candidate.

As a Deputy Manager / Deputy Home Manager with Leonard Cheshire you will support the Service Manager in the day to day operation of the service. This includes deputising in their absence and responsibility for the direct supervision and line-management of nurses, support staff and other staff in the service. You will be accountable for monitoring, maintaining and providing the highest standards of nursing, clinical, personal support and service delivery, while promoting independence and choice of our residents.

Gloucestershire House is a purpose-built building, with six separate additional bungalows, for 36 adults with physical disabilities. It is a short drive from Cheltenham town centre. This is a great development opportunity for a qualified Registered Nurse who wants to move into Management and to gain experience in a CQC registered 'outstanding' service. The post holder will be supported by an experienced Manager and staff team, taking a lead Infection Control and Clinical role in the service. This will support your Revalidation requirements and be a great career development opportunity as well.

The successful Deputy Manager will:

• Be a registered nurse, holding current registration with NMC.
• Have a level of professional development and registration (may include level 5 leadership in health & social care qualification).
• Have experience of providing direct personal and social care.
• Be experienced in managing a team of nursing and support staff.
• Have experience of working with customers who have physical and/or learning
• disabilities.
• Be able to work flexibly in accordance with rostered hours.
