With 5,000 staff and 10,000 volunteers supporting nearly 70,000 people in the UK and around the world, Leonard Cheshire provides support to 3,200 people in a variety of UK living services including supported living, nursing and day centre facilities.  We also support 12,000 young people in the UK with skills, confidence and employment programmes.  Internationally, we are a specialist development non-governmental organisation, delivering inclusive education, youth leadership and access to livelihoods programmes to more than 50,000 people in 15 countries across Asia and Africa.

About the role

We are recruiting 2 x SME Advisors in the West of England area to support the delivery of an exciting new project called IDEA for SMEs (Inclusion, Disability, Equality and Action).

IDEA for SMEs is part of the wider ‘Workforce for the Future’ programme, which is joint funded by the West of England Combined Authority and the European Social Fund.

The SME Advisor will be delivering a package of disability equality training to SMEs (small and medium sized enterprises) within the West of England area. By working closely with the Leonard Cheshire project team, partners, funders and SMEs, the SME Advisor will provide a scheme of training and resources on themes such as inclusion, removing barriers, workplace adjustments, the social model of disability and many more. In addition to training delivery there is a strong focus on monitoring and evaluation, employer engagement and administrative duties.

Training will be delivered both virtually and in-person and we’re therefore looking for someone who can travel throughout the region.

About you

The role would suit someone who is confident in delivering training, has excellent attention to detail, is self-motivated and a supportive team member.

You will need to be able to travel regularly across the region to deliver training.
