Events and Marketing Executive (Charity / Fundraising)

For over 40 years, Leukaemia UK has been making a difference to those living with blood cancer by funding essential emotional support, key hospital facilities, giving critical financial relief and funding innovative research into better care and treatments for all blood cancers, including leukaemia, lymphoma, myeloma and other blood disorders.
Position: Events and Marketing Executive
Location: Southwark, London SE1
Hours: Part-time Flexible, up to 24 hours per week
Salary: £22,000 - £24,000 FTE
About the Role:
With support from the Head of Fundraising, the Events and Marketing Executive will implement an integrated marketing and communications programme to increase public awareness of and engagement with Leukaemia UK. You will build relationships with existing supporters and donors, and increase their motivation to support us through fundraising.
In addition, you will keep the charity website and online communications updated and engaging, in response to events, news and other initiatives, and manage the production of organisational literature and promotional materials. You will also develop outstanding content for use across the charity’s communications activities, and manage the design, production and printing of promotional literature, coordinating the production of the annual newsletter and supporting the production of the Annual Review.
Furthermore, you will work with the Head of Fundraising to develop marketing plans, activities and materials to support fundraising objectives, and carry out the day-to-day management of the events and fundraising projects. You will also introduce and develop new fundraising initiatives including events-based income generation, regularly evaluating the success of fundraising activity and initiate ways of improving fundraising activity, efficiency and monies raised.
You will have supported fundraising of different types, and had experience of events management and donor motivation, possibly in a larger charity. You may now be looking for an opportunity to work more broadly, and take on more responsibility for your own initiatives, by becoming a key part of a small team.
You will have solid knowledge of digital communications and an understanding of the impact of a blood cancer diagnosis on patients and their families. You will demonstrate the ability to build strong relationships, both internally and externally, and place significant importance in looking after cherished donors. You must also have excellent communication skills, whether writing compelling proposals or talking about the charity’s ambitions for the future.
This is a small team and you will need to be comfortable working independently and be able to manage your own work load and set priorities.
