Job Description

Hours: 3 days (21 hours) Term-time only, possibility of extended hours.

Life Education Bristol (founded in 2001) is a delivery Partner of Coram Life Education that supports schools’ Wellbeing and Personal, Social, Health, and Economic (PSHE) education. We use dynamic teaching strategies (including drama) and resources within a framework of a fully developed whole-school approach to behaviour, safety and achievement. Our SCARFapproach supports Safety, Caring, Achievement, Resilience and Friendship for children, and includes a comprehensive online PSHE scheme of work, to support schools’ wellbeing and PSHE education for children aged 3-11.

Life Education in Bristol visits around 60 schools each year. Due to school demand, we require an active, outgoing and enthusiastic person with their own car to deliver this work, travelling to schools throughout the area in and around Bristol. This is an active role involving teaching in a specially equipped mobile classroom.

You will have:

  • primary-age teaching qualifications/experience, knowledge and proven skills in Wellbeing and PSHE education
  • the confidence and ability to work closely with teachers (as well as children) to ensure they fully embed our work within their wider provision
  • the ability and willingness to work independently, travelling to schools throughout the Greater Bristol area at the times necessary, during term time
  • the ability and willingness to undertake 3 months’ induction training, facilitated by Coram Life Education, and ongoing periodic training outside own region
  • an awareness of and commitment to equal opportunities principles and practice

The post is based in and around Greater Bristol, and is school-based
