Hours:                   34 per week

Duration:             Permanent, Full-time

Salary:                   £26,000 - £28,000

Lifelites’ goal

Lifelites is a small charity with a unique mission to donate life-changing technology packages to give life-limited and disabled children using hospice services a chance to play, be creative, control something for themselves and communicate, for as long as it is possible. We donate this technology, including training on how to use it and technical support, for children using every children’s hospice service in the British Isles. 

 

Purpose of the role

The Communications Officer is a key role within the Fundraising & PR Team, providing the full communications remit for Lifelites. This remit includes creating media opportunities for Lifelites; planning and managing the annual schedule of communications; managing the day to day running of the website and social media activity.

The candidate

We are looking for someone wishing to dedicate themselves to making a positive difference to the lives of life-limited and disabled children. You will need to work efficiently with colleagues, fundraisers and volunteers to raise the £750,000 we need each year to give these children a chance to escape the confines of their conditions.

You will need the right balance of experience, professionalism and friendliness and be willing to pick up the phone to make a new contact. And you will have the desire and skill to develop relationships with external parties, media, donors and volunteers to build Lifelites’ community of funders to help us do more for the children we support.

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Promotion of existing and new activities to engage target audiences through communications and maximise fundraising

  • Developing marketing materials to support fundraising

  • Supporting fundraising activities and campaigns

  • Sourcing and securing press, TV and radio opportunities for Lifelites

  • Website and social media management

  • Oversight of communications at external activities

  • Assisting with the communications to hospice staff

  • Strategy, analytics, and PR reporting
