We are recruiting up to six Pod Leader Trainees. You will work with people in the community, develop your skills and emotional intelligence through our experiential learning programme and be instrumental in shaping organisational learning.
Likewise is an innovative social care and mental health charity working at the heart of the Camden community to support individuals experiencing marginalisation and social exclusion.

Community – building safe spaces for people to be themselves, and feel a sense of belonging, connectedness and acceptance;
1-to-1 Support – providing flexible, person-centred support to meet the complexity a person experiences in their day-to-day life, whether at home or out in the community;
Shared Learning – facilitating experiential learning and formal training opportunities that support personal wellbeing and skills development.
ABOUT THE POD MODEL
Over the past 6 years, we’ve developed our Pod model for delivering 1-to-1 support and community activities. We train and employ a number of Pod Leaders who lead and support a team of Pod Learners and a Pod Leader Trainee in delivering the work. Our learners are a mixture of placement students, volunteers and paid support workers who are part of Likewise’s Learning Programme.
As Trainees, you will focus your first 9-12 months on your own experiential learning. You will primarily deliver 1-to-1 work within an existing Pod, as well as lead some of our community spaces and activities. You will be supported in this by regular supervisions, reflective spaces, group learning spaces and team meetings, in which your contribution is vital.
You will then progress to Pod Leaders. As you continue to carry out 1-to-1 support work, you’ll take on increasing responsibilities for supervising Pod Learners and facilitating learning spaces for them.
Throughout your journey with us, you will work closely with other professionals from the health and care system and heavily influence strategic decisions alongside service users.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
You don't need any specific qualifications or similar experience as prerequisites for applying. However, we’re looking for some amount of previous professional experience (in any industry / sector) and the role is suitable for someone looking for a career change.
As a Pod Leader, you must first and foremost be a learner and a leader:

In addition, we’re looking for Pod Leaders who will:
Be strong communicators and relationship builders, with the skills to navigate the complexities that often arise in working relationships.
Support people’s growth and development through acceptance, authenticity, open dialogue, challenge and empathy.
Have capacity for big picture strategic thinking alongside attention to detail and be someone who can get stuff done in order to translate vision into reality.
Be entrepreneurial and excited about transforming the health and care system.

With Covid restrictions lifting, we expect our staff will move to a mixture of remote and office-based work (which will be at our Likewise Hub in Swiss Cottage).
