c. £18,000 per year
Permanent, Full-time
Job description

Lingen Davies Cancer Fund exists to make a positive difference to lives affected by cancer in Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin, and Mid Wales. Our charity was launched in 1979 as the Cobalt Appeal; an appeal that raised funds to bring cancer services to Shropshire for the very first time. Since then, we have raised an estimated £20 million, in today’s money, to support local services, and over 85,000 people have benefitted from projects we have supported. Our work is focussed in three key areas: cancer prevention and early diagnosis, excellent treatment delivered locally, and living well with and beyond cancer.

We celebrated our 40th Anniversary in 2019, and as we look to the future we have big ambitions. Rates of cancer diagnoses are increasing, but treatments continue to evolve and improve, meaning more people survive their experience of cancer. We want to make sure that everyone with cancer in our community has access to the best possible services and support.

To support our ambitions, we want to significantly increase and diversify our income, so we are seeking to grow our small but highly effective staff team.

We’re looking for an additional Charity Administrator to help our office to run smoothly and ensure our supporters and visitors receive the best possible service. We are exceptionally lucky to have a strong base of support in our community, and this continues to grow. We pride ourselves on building great relationships with our supporters, and this role will be a key one in maintaining these.

As our support grows, our number of visitors, and of donations, increases! It is, of course, vital that donations are processed accurately, and that donors are recognised appropriately for their contributions. Visitors must be made welcome, and their questions answered in a friendly and efficient manner.

Our new Charity Administrator will be a key part of the office team, based on one of our reception desks and responsible for providing exceptional customer service as well as completing a range of administrative tasks to support the work of the Fundraising Office.

All of our staff and volunteers are expected to work with the Lingen Davies values in mind. We are:

Ambitious and Committed

We will grow and develop, and be here to support people in our community with cancer, for many years to come

Honest and Resourceful

We use our money, time and resources wisely, making sure our charity is sustainable and we are having real impact

Experienced and Progressive

We remember and learn from our 40-year history, while we look for new and innovative ways to support people with cancer

Friendly and Supportive

We want people to enjoy being involved with Lingen Davies. We are welcoming, open and excited to hear about your ideas and stories

Proud to be Part of our Amazing Community

Our roots are in the people of Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin, and Mid Wales. We couldn’t do anything without our supporters, and we are so very proud to be making a positive difference here.

We offer you…

A friendly and dynamic working environment

Generous annual leave and a day off for your birthday

Workplace pension scheme

Opportunities to develop through training and on-the-job experience

The chance to work in an organisation that makes a real difference to people in our community

If you think you can help us make a positive difference to lives affected by cancer in Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin, and Mid Wales, we would love to hear from you.
