Link Age Southwark is a vibrant local charity which works to ensure that older people and people living with dementia can thrive in life. We work with our dedicated volunteers to provide the support people need to live happy, healthy lives. We support around 600 older people and people with dementia each year with support from over 400 volunteers, we help them stay connected with their communities by working to alleviate loneliness, reduce social isolation, improve health and wellbeing and making communities stronger through volunteering.
Our Service Coordinators play a key role in delivering our high-quality services for older people and people with dementia living in the London Borough of Southwark. You will be responsible for assessing the needs of the older people referred to us and tailoring the support offered to them based on their individual needs and interests.
Our service offer includes: Ageing Well Southwark (hub-based provision); volunteer befriending; exercise, social and activity groups; a regular newsletter; dementia specific services as well as parties and events. Each Service Coordinator has lead responsibility for a number of groups as well as an identified area of work.
In this role you will take the lead for delivery for our practical support tasks including overseeing our volunteer drivers. Our practical support includes a shopping service that was established during the pandemic, gardening, and odd jobs around the house. We also occasionally gain funding to make a specific offer to service users such as book or flower deliveries and you will coordinate these offers.
Service Coordinators are required to keep accurate and up-to-date records on our shared database and help maintain positive relationships with external partners in COPSINS, as well as our other local partners.
