About The Role

We are looking for a Support Worker to join our friendly and diverse housing Resettlement team. The team provides support across central and greater Bristol areas. You will be part of a team of Support Workers, supporting adults who have previously been homeless and are exiting the Homelessness Pathways into their own tenancies.
 
You will manage and support your own caseload of clients who have been referred to the Resettlement team and your approach will be psychologically informed, person centered and solution focused. Many of our clients' present complex needs and at times, the role can be challenging but you will receive full and on-going training, regular case management reviews and reflective practice group sessions with your team.
 
The emphasis is to empower clients to live independently. You will support and advise clients on their responsibilities and obligations in sustaining a tenancy, helping to secure funding via charity applications to furnish their news homes and develop budget plans to ensure clients can manage their own finances moving forwards. You will also make referrals into other community based services and advocate on behalf of your clients' when that is necessary, for example, with applications for appropriate benefits or referring into both statutory and non-statutory services, dependent on the needs of the individuals. 
Experience in a similar role would be desirable, however what is most important is having a passion for helping people in the local community.

This role will be challenging at times as you will be working with and supporting clients across a range of difficult and challenging issues/behaviours; an attention to detail, using your initiative and problem solving will be key. You will be required to work remotely, as well as lone working on client visits with appropriate safety devices, laptop and phone all being provided for you. 

This role is being offered on a part time basis, working 30 hours per week on a rolling rota.  Bandwidth hours will be 8am to 9pm.

About The Candidate

To be considered for the role of Support Worker, you will have a good knowledge of benefits and welfare reform along with an excellent understanding of safeguarding, substance misuse, emotional and mental health issues.

The most important part of this role is to have pride in your work and have a positive attitude, a proactive approach and the confidence to support a diverse range of people.  You will be able to balance your passion and commitment with good organisational skills, and the ability to maintain appropriate boundaries. 

In addition, you will:

- Be able to deliver tailored support to a variety of customers with diverse needs to promote independence and encourage them to live safely as part of their communities.
- Work collaboratively with other colleagues and external agencies to ensure an appropriate, timely and comprehensive service is delivered.
- Take ownership and responsibility and be able to make informed decisions to identify appropriate support.
- Consult and involve customers in their support plans.
- Assess and manage any risks appropriately - ensuring you establish and maintain professional boundaries at all times.
- Establish, maintain and administer records electronically and manually in line with company and statutory requirements.
- Collate and assemble information to ensure service targets are met.
- Consistently deal courteously and professionally with customers to meet business needs.
- Use customer feedback to improve the business.
- Have clear and effective communication skills.
- Have confident computer skills, including MS office and case management systems
- Have a full driving licence and access to your own vehicle is essential
