About The Role

This is an exciting new opportunity to join our Support team in Cornwall as a part time Support Worker in our STAR (Short Term Accommodation & Resettlement) service based in Falmouth.
 
You will be working with people who have complex needs including substance misuse, mental ill-heath, fleeing domestic abuse and other challenging issues. Providing a holistic support service assisting with budgeting, benefits, health and wellbeing, housing, maintaining tenancies, sign-posting and emotional support. You will need to take a creative approach to support, adapting your style of communication and support planning with each individual to draw up a person centred support plan and help customers establish and work towards their goals and aspirations.

You will need to be able to effectively risk assess, have a good understanding of safeguarding and be able to develop strong links with other services and providers that support clients with complex needs.

You will be expected to work flexibly to ensure that the needs of the clients are met and this may include late shifts and some weekend working.

This role is being offered on a part time basis, working 29.6 hours per week, over 5 days, which may include weekend working.

About The Candidate

To be considered for the role of  Support Worker, you will/be: 

- Have an understanding of support needs and support planning.
- Have experience of risk assessing and risk management.
- Be a great communicator with the ability to build a rapport.
- Have accurate record keeping and computer skills.
- Confident in lone working and be a good team player.
- Have a flexible approach to work.
- Be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Be resilient and adaptable.
- Have an open, friendly personality and the ability to maintain a positive attitude in challenging situations.
