We are Living Streets, the UK charity for everyday walking.
We want to create a nation where walking is the natural choice for every day, local journeys; free from congested roads and pollution, reducing the risk of preventable illnesses and social isolation. We want to achieve a better walking environment and to inspire people of all generations to enjoy the benefits the simple act of walking brings. Join us and together we will create a walking nation.
We are looking for an experienced project coordinator to join our team in Scotland. The post will oversee our core programmes focused on schools and behaviour change. The post holder will coordinate the delivery of community engagement and capacity building work, taking a community development approach to enabling and encouraging people of all ages and abilities to walk more for everyday journeys, health and leisure. Activity will range from supporting local communities to improve their streets and spaces for walking, to working with key statutory and voluntary partners to develop interventions that promote walking and sustainable transport choices. A strong focus will be working in partnership with people experiencing significant barriers to everyday walking to co-produce solutions.
Core to the role will be the ability to work effectively with statutory, voluntary and community level partners at levels to influence strategic decision making and effect change.
Living Streets is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and adults at risk; and expects all our staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Applicants will be subject to background and criminal records checks as relevant to the job role.
