We are Living Streets, the UK charity for everyday walking. We want to create a nation where walking is the natural choice for everyday, local journeys; free from congested roads and pollution, reducing the risk of preventable illnesses and social isolation. We want to achieve a better walking environment and to inspire people of all generations to enjoy the benefits the simple act of walking brings.
For 90 years we’ve been a beacon for walking. In our early days our campaigning led to the UK’s first zebra crossings and speed limits. Now our campaigns and local projects deliver real change to overcome barriers to walking and our ground-breaking initiatives such as the world’s biggest Walk to School campaign encourage millions of people to walk.
Join us and together we will create a walking nation.
We’re looking for an enthusiastic and personable Schools Coordinator to join our Local Impact team for a fixed term period until 31 March 2021. Previous experience of working with schools to promote active travel and supporting stakeholders remotely is essential.
You will also be responsible for recruiting target project audiences, organising the distribution of resources and promoting our national walking campaigns at key points in the year.
This is an interesting and varied role, and an ability to embrace a variety of tasks whilst working remotely is essential.
The role may be based in our London or Newcastle Living Streets offices. However, applications for being home-based in England will be considered. Please note that regular travel to Living Streets offices will be required.
