Are you ready to take on your next challenge in a high-profile role as Senior Development Lead – Major Gifts?
With extensive experience as a senior fundraiser, you will be joining our new Giving team to manage and develop high-net-worth prospects to support London Business School’s strategic priorities.
The London Business School (LBS) is one of the world’s elite business schools, and our ambition as a department matches this. In 2016, we successfully closed a comprehensive fundraising campaign two years early - surpassing our original target of £100m by over 25%. Building on this success, we are now preparing to launch our new school-wide fundraising campaign in support of our world-class faculty, research, learning facilities and diverse student community.
In this role, you will build and develop long-lasting relationships with new and existing supporters, establishing opportunities for long-term income generation at six-seven figure level. You will develop and manage approximately 100-120 prospects, regularly reviewing progress with the Head of Research and support functions. Working with colleagues across the department and school, you will develop and tailor creative approaches to portfolio management, develop engagement plans to maximise income, profile and influence of LBS and identify new prospects.
Reporting to and working closely with the Director of Giving, you will provide reporting and financial updates and help support the Giving strategy and more specifically, unrestricted giving to LBS. In addition to this, you will work with the Campaign Director, you will contribute to the planning process for the next fundraising campaign and identify and build a pipeline of prospects. You will also represent the team internally at high level meetings and institute events, as well as serving as an ambassador to the School at events and conferences externally.
We are looking for a highly-motivated person with proven major gifts fundraising experience from either the education or charity sectors. You will come with a track record of closing six-seven figure major gifts and be highly proficient at developing relationships, influencing and negotiating at senior management level. Outstanding written, verbal and communication skills are essential in order to negotiate, influence and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
In return, we offer excellent development opportunities, competitive salary and excellent benefits, including significant pension contributions and access to our on-site gym. Our global reputation creates a vibrant and diverse campus setting, and you will enjoy regular interaction with students and academics.
This is a unique opportunity for a passionate and ambitious person wanting to develop their career in a supportive and ambitious organisation. If you feel you are right for this role, we would love to hear from you.
