Job description
Project Manager (Mental Health and Wellbeing)
Home and Field Based (with travel to sites across London)

About Us

We are London Higher, an ‘umbrella’ body representing over 40 publicly funded universities and higher education (HE) institutions in London, as well as several universities with centres in London and a small number of private providers.

We are the place where universities and higher education colleges come together to identify the opportunities and address the challenges of working in London.

A division of our organisation, London Health HE, connects senior leaders across London to advance health and medical education, as well as student and staff wellbeing.

We are currently looking for a Project Manager to join London Health HE and lead on the delivery of a funded project to create a mental health referral pathways toolkit. This is a part-time post, working 21 hours per week on a fixed-term contract until the end of January 2021.

The Benefits

- Salary of circa £30,000 pro rata
- Pension
- Free eye tests
- Home working options
- Offices in a central London location
- A friendly and informal atmosphere
- 25 days’ annual leave pro rata plus Bank Holidays and Christmas and Easter shutdowns

If you are an experienced Project Manager with strong relationship-building skills, this is a superb opportunity to help enhance mental health and wellbeing support for students and staff in higher education.

You will have the chance to act as a bridge between leaders in higher education and facilitate positive, lasting change that will impact many.

So, if you’re excited by the idea of contributing to best practice in wellbeing and mental health in HE, this is the role for you.

The Role

As the Project Manager, you’ll oversee the delivery of a mental health referral pathways toolkit with 15 universities and their partners across London.

In this key role, you will develop strong relationships with all project partners and research key areas of mental health and wellbeing processes that are currently being used in partner institutions. Ultimately, you’ll aim to develop a prototype toolkit to be tested and deployed within partner institutions.

You will be tasked with developing the project plans, overseeing their implementation and ensuring that the project is successfully delivered in line with your plans.

Some of your duties will involve:

- Convening the steering committee on a regular basis
- Engaging with project partners and giving them regular progress updates
- Supporting partner institutions to use the toolkit
- Working with colleagues to inform discussion around student mental health and wellbeing
- Evaluating the success of the project and use of the toolkit

About You

To join us as the Project Manager, you will need:

- Project management experience
- Excellent administration skills
- Strong writing and editing skills with a great eye for detail
- Effective partnership working and interpersonal skills
- Good IT skills, including MS Office, email (Outlook) and use of the internet
- The ability to form and maintain good working relationships with internal and external colleagues

Experience of working in higher education would be beneficial, as would previous experience of working in the health promotion or other relevant public health sector.

Other organisations may call this role Mental Health Project Manager, Wellbeing Project Manager, Higher Education Project Manager, HE Project Manager, Programme Manager, Mental Health & Wellbeing Programme Manager, or Project Delivery Manager.

The closing date for applications is the 17th June 2020.
