Recruiting for a Team Leader to join our CQC registered care home in Felstead Street!


GBP 25,525 per annum, working 40 hours per week full time, FTC until 30th June 2022, plus 25 days Annual Leave, Pension schemes, Staff discounts, healthcare and more.


Job Overview:


Felstead Street is a CQC registered care home, which has a heavy focus on supporting customers with enduring mental health care and elderly needs. We provide 24hr high support to 24 customers both female and male. Our building is a purpose-built home on two floors, offering customers individual bedrooms and the use of shared communal facilities and gardens. The service is commissioned by East London Foundation Trust with the care contribution from London Borough of Hackney.
As a Team Leader at Felstead Street you will play an integral role in supporting the contract Manager driving up standards and help towards achieving delivering the best possible Care and support to our customers. You will have an active role in mentoring and developing a staff team to be the best they can be.

You will also have an active role in ensuring Felstead Street meets its core Key Performance Indicators and delivering compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead and motivate your team to ensure the championing of and maintenance of a positive local culture within your service.
- Deliver effective supervision meetings on a 1-1 basis, ensuring any concerns raised are actioned, supporting staff to acknowledge their own potential and be the best they can be.
- Responsible for staff mentoring and development, identifying training needs and managing poor performances.
- Work in collaboration with the landlord to ensure all housing and building repairs are actioned and completed on time.
- Ensure Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) required as part of the Contract are met and recorded correctly and reported to the relevant departments.
- Develop key business relationships with all appropriate relevant external parties to ensure service agreements and compliance is maintained.
- Participate in and monitor the initial and continuous assessments of customer needs and ensure support planning and risk management are reviewed and updated as when required.
- Carry out new referral assessments, including visits to hospitals and liaising with health professionals.
- Carry out administrative tasks as relevant to the service and directed by the Contract/Heads of Operations ensuring Compliance is achieved.
- Providing management cover in the absence of the Contract Manager.
- Deliver an out of hours on-call service for the local region, as where required
- Ensure that all safeguarding cases are managed in line with safeguarding protocols and are reported to Contract Manager/Head of Operations, as appropriate
- Ensure Look Ahead Health and Safety policies are adhered to at all times and to uphold all health and safety responsibilities within relevant policies and local protocols
- Adhere to all the policies and procedures of Look Ahead Care, Support & Housing plus those specific to the project including any statutory requirements
reported to Contract Manager/Head of Operations, as appropriate.
- Ensure Look Ahead Health and Safety policies are adhered to at all times and to uphold all health and safety responsibilities within relevant policies and local protocols
- Adhere to all the policies and procedures of Look Ahead Care, Support & Housing plus those specific to the project including any statutory requirement.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience:


Essential:

- Up to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent or experience in the social care/charity sector.
- Demonstrable experience of working with people who have complex mental health issues.
- Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and ability to investigate where required.
- Experience of mentoring and developing staff.
- Use of IT skills including Microsoft Office to a high standard.
- Sound knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberties.
- Building Partnership working with a range of Health Professionals.

Desirable:

- Experience working in mental health
- Experience working in a CQC registered care setting
- Conflict negotiation training.
- Managing a case load of support workers.
- Understanding of the role of social services, mental health teams and other third party agencies.
- Strong understanding of recovery approaches and models.
