Job description

We are looking for a dynamic and forward-looking manager who will engage with the community to achieve the LGCA’s vision of making Lyde Green a safe and welcoming community for all. You will primarily achieve this through the effective running and development of Lyde Green Community Centre. You will share our ambition for this Centre to be at the heart of the community and become “more than just a building”. 

You will be proactive, enthusiastic, highly organised and able to manage key systems, contracts and procedures at pace. You will also be able to build strong relationships with residents, volunteers and partners to get everyone working together for the benefit of the community. 

We are looking for someone who has experience in running community services or buildings and is a strong people manager. You will also have a good understanding of community development practices and put them at the heart of everything you do. This should be combined with a business approach for developing hiring opportunities, ensuring the financial viability of the Centre in the long-term and running the building day-to-day. 

The qualities of the role-holder will be important, as you will need to live and breathe the LGCA’s values. You will receive training and support from the Trustees of LGCA and several partner organisations.
