What’s the role?
You will lead on budgeting, management accounts and business partnering within an area of the Fundraising, Marketing and Communications Directorate. Working closely with the Head of Finance (FMC) and 2 other team members to provide expert advice to senior business managers on financial decision making.
You will need to challenge stakeholders to take the best decisions for the organisation, taking into account the financial impact, most effective use of resources and corporate strategic objectives. In addition, you will be the financial representative on relevant project groups and work closely with managers and budget-holders to provide financial advice and support.
The role provides scope to develop your business partnering skills and ensure a consistency of approach to budget holders across Macmillan.
Who are we looking for?
You are a qualified accountant with strong business partnering skills, if you have management accounts experience gained within a complex organisation then that is a bonus. Whether charity or commercial, you will have a proven track record in building and maintaining relationships and influencing a variety of stakeholders.
You must demonstrate well-developed communication and interpersonal skills to ensure that financial concepts and information are clear. A positive and flexible results-focused outlook will make you a valued resource to the organisation.
Exposure to a computerised accounting and reporting environment and the ability to use Excel at high level will be important tools to success in this role.
