Head of Planning and Performance
Advocacy and Communications Directorate
£60,500 - £64,000
Macmillan is at a pivotal point in implementing its current ambitious strategic priorities and is looking for an experienced and dynamic Head of Planning & Performance to develop approaches to planning and performance management across our newly-formed Advocacy and Communications Directorate.
Bringing together our advocacy and communications teams, implementing a new Macmillan brand and values, and then developing a long-term advocacy strategy all mean that this is an exciting time to be joining the directorate. And working closely across its leadership team to ensure we are a strong voice for people living with cancer and focusing our work on where we can have most impact.
You will develop the directorate's strategic plan and lead the implementation of governance processes. You will also lead on ways of working relating to strategy, planning, stakeholder management, performance and risk that enable the directorate to operate effectively and deliver its short, medium and long term strategic objectives aligned with Macmillan's organisational strategy and strategic priorities.
As part of the wider leadership team, you will provide coaching, feedback, support and challenge to Heads and Directors to improve the quality of plans, accelerate implementation of strategic priorities and build planning & performance management capabilities across Advocacy and Communications.
You will act as a key interface with the wider Macmillan, in particular with planning and performance functions across the organisation. You will also act as a key point of contact for HR, Finance and Technology business partners to improve cross-organisational processes and efficiency.
As well as proven experience in all the above, you will need excellent communication and interpersonal skills to quickly build trusted relationships across Macmillan and drive increased alignment of activities to deliver the greatest impact for people living with cancer.
We will also be looking for the ideal candidate to start as soon as possible.
Interview: 18/19 March 2021
