Volunteering Fundraising Manager - North and Midlands

Volunteers are central to Macmillan’s ambition to reach and improve the lives of everyone affected by cancer. We have one of the largest and most successful fundraising teams in the charity sector, but with the challenge of supporting four million people living with cancer by 2030, it’s essential we raise more to expand our vital work.
As part of our UK-Wide team of Volunteer Fundraising Managers (VFMs) you will be implement the ambitious plans to involve volunteers to increasing our fundraising income to support people living with cancer.
You will be responsible for recruiting, managing and developing a large and diverse team of volunteers in a range of roles, predominantly in and around Midlands and North of England. These volunteers will support our growing and varied fundraising events programme, from marathons to music festivals. You will also be supporting our network of existing collectors and representatives.
For hundreds of volunteers you will be the face of Macmillan, sending out communications, responding to queries and leading at events. You will build effective relationships with volunteers and colleagues to ensure a joined-up approach to volunteering. Your warmth and communication skills will allow you to engage with people from all backgrounds, understanding and responding to their different motivations for supporting Macmillan.
You will be passionate about the importance of delivering a consistent and excellent experience to ensure volunteers continue to choose to help our charity, and use data and insight to help find opportunities, identify which have the biggest impact, and show the power of volunteering.
Whether your experience has been gained in the charity or corporate sector, you will readily demonstrate your knowledge and experience of volunteering, fundraising, sales and marketing. You will have strong communication, organisation and time management skills as well as the ability to model good practice using our Macmillan Volunteering Quality Standards. Personal experience of volunteering will be beneficial.
First stage interviews planned for week of 23rd August. For those successful at the first stage, there will also be second interviews the following week. Interviews will be held online via Microsoft Teams.
