As part of our investment in improving our communications at the MA, we're recruiting to this full-time post. It is initially for a period of six months while we recruit our new head of marketing and communicaitons - with the potential for it to be extended either temporarily or permanently. If you are an experienced media/ communications professional, with a proven track record of working in or with the media we want to hear from you.
You'll be picking up immediately the running of our media relationships, working closely with the chair and chief executive in proactive and reactive media work, as well as working with the head of marketing and communications on developing future plans. On any day you might be:
- Responding to media calls for background information, quotes or interviews
- Drafting quotes and press releases for the chair and chief executive, and liaising with our policy committee chairs and others in the criminal justice system to ensure accuracy
- Writing copy and uploading to our website, or sending out via our e-news bulletin
- Writing articles for placement in external publications
Because of our small staff team size you'll have opportunities to develop your skills in a way unlikely to be possible in larger organisations.
