The JU:MP Campaign Manager role is an exciting opportunity to join the Magpie team and to be part of a once in a life-time initiative which will have a real and lasting impact on the health and wellbeing of children, young people and families in some of the most deprived communities in the country.


Magpie is helping to create healthier and happier communities one person; one campaign, one community at a time and creating behaviour change campaigns that transform lives and tackle important social issues.


At Magpie we are on a mission to create campaigns which have a positive impact on the communities around us. We call this The Great Campaign.


Working as a Campaign Manager representing Magpie and based primarily within the JU:MP team. JU:MP (Join Us: Move Play) is an important social movement gaining momentum within the North Bradford area.


JU:MP is a National Lottery funded Sport England initiative. Part of Active Bradford, JU:MP works with families and communities in North Bradford to inspire, energise and support children to be active.


Magpie has been chosen to deliver innovative behaviour change solutions which make it easier for communities to access sport and physical activity. 



The role:

The JU:MP campaign manager will play a pivotal role within the programme, implementing marketing strategy, building strong client and community relationships.

Experienced in campaign and project management and in delivering multi-faceted marketing campaigns you will be comfortable in taking an overarching client strategy and turning it in to marketing implementation strategies, initiatives, and campaign briefs.


You will have an eye for detail and with your meticulous project planning and excellent communication skills you will be excited by this opportunity and ready to embrace the challenge.

Leading on the creation and getting stuck in with the hands-on delivery of the JU:MP campaign, you will be expected to deliver successfully on the strategy which aims to increase the physical activity of young people in the following areas of Bradford:

  1. Allerton, Lower Grange and Fairweather Green
  2. Manningham, Toller, Girlington
  3. Eccleshill, Undercliffe, Thorpe Edge, Windhill and Wrose

In this role we expect that you will be a self-starter who has the ability to take initiative and make things happen.



Job Dimensions and scope

You will be responsible for delivering the strategy of the JU:MP social movement, contributing to the measurable behaviour change through the JU:MP social marketing and communications campaigns.

You will be expected to be self-motivated and able to take on and manage all aspects of campaign management, leading the campaign independently. Working directly with the client team and the Director of Impact at Magpie directing and managing campaigns and activity and liaising with all stakeholders, suppliers and partners throughout.

JU:MP is being evaluated by academic researchers so you will be expected to support the evaluation where necessary, including the provision of fortnightly reflections about your approach to the project.

You will be based in split locations sharing time with the Magpie team in Leeds and the JU:MP team in Bradford.

Client Service

Representing Magpie within our clients’ environment, bringing marketing expertise to their team. Independent project direction, always achieving the very best outcome for our client.

Regular and effective communication and liaison with both JU:MP and Magpie to provide timely updates on project progress and to ensure that the client receives the very best of Magpie and our experience in delivering behaviour change campaigns.

Closely linked to Magpie and embracing the purpose, culture and approach of our unique behaviour change campaigns agency.

The clear interpretation and organisation of client feedback.


Campaign Strategy

Working closely with the client and Director of Impact at Magpie you will be responsible for overseeing and developing sub-strategies for areas such as: insight; brand; partnerships; social media; digital and events.

Creating implementation plans, scopes, delivery plans and schedules and determining approval milestones and practices which ensure that delivery is smooth and standards are high at every touch point through all campaigns.

You will be an experienced campaign manager with the ability to keep all projects on track whilst ensuring that communication with all key stakeholders and in particular the client and Director of Impact at Magpie.

You will embrace our behaviour change approach and the co-creation and collaboration embedded within the Magpie way.

As a part of this:

Collaborating with the JU:MP Community Engagement Managers to devise a comprehensive community engagement plan and maximise the success of the campaign.

Gaining insight in to the three community areas, working alongside Community Engagement Managers to ensure that we provide campaign information, engagement and materials in the most appropriate way.

Co-creating with the community members in an open and inclusive way and adapting the strategy and approach to meet the needs of the community.

Selecting and managing relationships with partners and suppliers.

Working alongside the JU:MP Communications Officer to ensure the campaign fits in to the wider programme communications strategy.

Providing hands-on marketing as and when needed - capturing and creating social content, managing emails/database, promoting events and activities, writing press releases.



Organisation and administration

You will be experienced in managing all aspects of budget control, administration and organisation and the communication of all aspects of campaign management in order to deliver in the most appropriate way, on-brand, on-brief on-time and on-budget.

You will be capable managing a high volume of information about stakeholders, their organisations and activities.



Essential Experience and Skills:

We are looking for an experienced team member who can hit the ground running and who will embrace the challenge. Self-motivated and confident, you will work on your own initiative.

  • A solid background in creative or marketing environments, with a proven ability to manage a brief
  • The ability to plan and manage social marketing campaigns at a strategic / senior level, including time/delivery management and budget management
  • Significant experience in relationship management, with the ability to exercise sound judgement, sensitivity and political awareness in working with multiple stakeholders and interested groups
  • Proven experience and the ability to work with a wider Magpie team – including campaign management, creative, digital and content producers plus any key suppliers in order to deliver impactful high-quality campaigns
  • Experience of working collaboratively with a range of partners and proven experience of shaping partnership opportunities within communities to maximise campaign success
  • A strong track record in meticulous project planning
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Effective team management and leadership capabilities
  • A keen attention to detail and budgetary constraints
  • Full awareness of creative processes and techniques – including digital platforms
  • Innovative thinker, with proven ability to problem solve
  • Self-motivation with confidence and ability to work on own initiative




  • A knowledge and understanding of the communities that the JU:MP campaign is targeting
  • To be able to speak one or more of the following languages: Punjabi, Urdu, Polish, Bengali
