The fast-paced marketing team drives activity that supports fundraising, wishgranting and brand development. Within this role, you will support us to generate national, broadcast and local coverage for wishes and campaigns.
You could be support us by telling our compelling stories of wishes, fundraising, fundraisers and our own corporate narrative. You could also be helping on campaigns with influencers. In the event of a crisis, you’ll provide us with high quality, confidential support. You’ll be a key part of the press office function that faces the outside world. You’ll also provide advice, support and guidance as our community team develop our ambitions around granting more wishes in the community, and the shifts this will mean in our current approach to supporting PR activities.
The focus for this role is owned and earned channel engagement.
You’ll be managed by our new PR and Influencer Engagement Manager but will need to work closely with fellow marketing team colleagues - we’re a close team and need to work together tightly and coherently (and with our fundraising and wishgranting colleagues) to deliver maximum results.
This is a busy role that requires a go-getting attitude and enthusiasm. You’ll need to demonstrate your experience of press and media, showing us how you craft releases, generate coverage and measure the impact you’re having with your work. How you build and nurture relationships is key too – so we’ll be looking for someone with experience of working with a range of stakeholders.
You’ll need to be able to prioritise and demonstrate enthusiasm and a can-do attitude. The nature of our work is quite sensitive at times so a degree of emotional resilience is required.
Hours: This role is a full time role based on 37 hours a week. We operate an agile working environment offering flexibility in working practices.
