We are looking for a part-time Finance Director, based in our office in London, overseeing the work of the Finance Officer in a newly restructured department.
Making Music is the UK association for leisure-time music, with a membership of 3,700+ music groups, comprising around 200,000 hobby musicians. We support members with practical services to help them run their groups, and with artistic development opportunities; we run meetings and events for them; we celebrate their achievements and speak on their behalf to partners and policy makers.
The Finance Director post is an integral part of the charity’s senior management team, working closely with the Chief Executive and the senior management team, helping us shape the strategy for this thriving charity and ensuring it has the financial systems and resources to deliver that strategy.
The role will line-manage the (4dpw) Finance Officer who runs the day to day financial accounting processes.
Making Music is seeking to appoint a qualified (ACA or ACCA) accountant with experience in a senior financial management role and of managing a finance operation and finance staff.
We are looking for a team player with excellent communication skills, with recent experience with Sage and Quickbooks software, and with experience of managing charity accounts, including charitable groups, and preparing accounts in accordance with SORP guidelines.
This post is for 2 days a week (15 hrs) and can be worked flexibly. Salary £45k pro rata (=£18k a year for 2 days per week).
