The Role:
We’re looking for a bold and caring person to lead and develop Lancashire Mind’s Wellbeing Coaching service and mobilise a pilot of therapeutic services; a new service for Lancashire Mind.

You will be a mental health practitioner with experience of delivering therapeutic services and understand the different types of therapy and support clients need. To succeed in the role, you will need excellent communication skills, project management and line management experience.

The current postholder is going on maternity leave so we are looking for someone who is able to step into the role and hit the ground running. You will be motivated, flexible and adaptable.

Along with managing the rollout of Lancashire Mind’s therapeutic services, you will manage several coaching focussed projects. As such you will lead on partner and funder liaison, promotion, quality assurance, monitoring and reporting. You will work with a range of voluntary and community organisations and will identify and develop new opportunities for services.

About the Role

The US-UK Fulbright Commission is home to the UK’s EducationUSA team, which offers a wide variety of information and support to people in the UK about studying in the USA. We know how many people are interested in choosing to study a degree at a US university, but clear, unbiased and accurate information can be hard to find. Our free services aim to support anyone in the UK who is interested in studying in the USA make their dreams a reality.

As an EducationUSA manager, you will play a key role in designing and running informational services to help prospective students, teachers, advisors and parents navigate US university admissions for successful study in the USA. As an organisation, we are proud to help broaden prospective applicants’ horizons by showcasing all of the exciting opportunities at more than 4,000 US accredited universities and colleges.

As the successful candidate, you will work in a small team to promote US study, from attending university fairs to meet with prospective students, to holding one-to-one advising video calls with individual students, to answering questions from US universities looking to recruit in the UK. Alongside running a lively webinar and in person event schedule, which you will be involved in promoting, you’ll also be the lead member of staff working on our signature event, USA College Day, which is Europe’s largest US college fair.

You’ll bring excellent project management skills to the role, with a cool head under pressure. You’ll be experienced at event management, but also enjoy presenting and working directly with students too. You’ll bring passion for the opportunities presented by studying abroad, and be able to inspire students while also anticipating questions and concerns they might have about US study.

Job Purpose

The successful candidate for our Policy Manager (Maternity cover) position will be joining BSR’s high performing and dynamic External Affairs team, which is promoting excellence and driving up the standard of Rheumatology care across the four nations of the UK by affecting public policy change. In 2023 our External Affairs team were nominated for an industry wide Public Affairs award for hugely impactful Homecare Medicines Campaign, so it is a fantastic time to join the team and we continue to work on the cutting-edge of policy and public affairs.  

The role of the Policy Manager is to work closely with our members to give a voice to the society within emerging health policy discussions, public consultations and to play an important role in the development of our integrated departmental campaigning approach. The Policy Manager also plays a leading role in the development of our pro-active policy work and helps to shape the direction of the society’s lobbying. In the last year the Policy Manager has played a crucial role in producing expert advice and guidance, as well as groundbreaking health economics research, which are improving the delivery of Rheumatology care across the country – and 2024/25 is going to be another exciting period for the team.  

Main responsibilities

• To develop the Society’s pro-active policy agenda by conducting research, writing policy papers and managing research contracts in-line with of our goal to improve the quality of care in Rheumatology services.
•  To drive excellence in all aspects of rheumatology by managing BSR’s member-led Clinical Affairs Committee and supporting the committee to deliver on their work plan. 
• To co-ordinate BSR’s response to health policy developments and in regular public consultations, for example technology appraisals, guidelines in development and quality standards.
• To support the development of the Society’s leadership voice in the public policy space by working closely with the Head of EA and Public Affairs Manager to deliver our integrated campaign approach to influencing change.
• To build and maintain stakeholder relations with internal and external stakeholders and to engage with relevant bodies to represent the society as and when required on emerging policy issues.
• To lead on growing awareness amongst the BSR membership of the impact of our policy work on improving Rheumatology care by delivering planned communications and contributions to regional and national member bodies. 

Person Specification

Experience 

1.  A demonstrable interest in helping people with rheumatic conditions to receive the highest quality outcomes and live well, championing the specialty, influencing change and building a thriving community of best practice. 
2.  Experience working in a policy role within a political, governmental or not-for-profit environment, or other experience which you can demonstrate matches suitability with the role responsibilities. 
3.  A demonstrable interest in health policy or a strong working knowledge of the current NHS and health policy landscape. 
4.  Experience working with or management of committees and/or within a membership organisation. 
5.  An academic or professional understanding of the use of different research methods and their application in conducting research and writing papers. 

Abilities and Skills 

1.  Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate complex issues succinctly to different audiences.  
2.  Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop stakeholder relationships.

In the first few months, you would have:

• Identified new opportunities to develop off-air partnership income through corporate funding applications, charity of the year proposals and where relevant, Trust and Foundation applications.

• Developed a solid understanding of Make Some Noise’s offering and charity portfolio, to leverage them effectively for building new partnerships. 

• Provided exceptional account management, ensuring partnership deliverables align with key objectives and ensure smooth implementation using strong project management skills. 

Responsibilities of the role

• Be responsible for securing a fixed amount of new business annually. Identify and secure new high-value partners through proactive prospecting, engaging pitches, and effective relationship building.

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders for seamless partnership delivery, including Grants and Operations, Finance, Legal, and more.

• Brainstorm creative partnership solutions to help us stand out and win both proactive and reactive briefs.

• Identify, explore and network with relevant corporates and philanthropic foundations. 

• Diligently lead account management of large partnerships, providing materials, resources, contracts and project plans as required.

• Produce comprehensive partnership reports to summarize activities to highlight key learnings and recommendations.

• Provide support to Head of Brand Partnerships on all projects and practice adaptability according to external and internal priorities. 

• Develop strong working relationships and exceed expectations with partners to secure repeat business.

• Produce compelling case studies and pitch documents to support new business endeavours and potential award entries.

• Provide leadership and support to the Senior Partnership Executive, providing the tools, processes and encouragement for them to achieve their KPIs. 

What you will need

• Proven track record of hitting fundraising targets within a charity setting, with a goal-oriented mindset.

• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Strong project management abilities, with excellent time management and attention to detail.

Desirable qualifications

A fantastic animal rescue centre are looking for a Animal Sanctuary Manager based in Sidehead, Bishop Auckland.

Salary: £30,000 + small company van

Location: On-site with the potential to work from home 1 day a week

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing the animal care staff
• Assisting the Animal Care Supervisor as needed
• Undertaking animal care and cleaning duties as needed, including worming, flea treatment and vaccination schedules

Hub Coordinator (2 roles)

Swindon’s welcome, accessible space in the heart of the town is looking for two Hub Coordinators - to help us grow, build and do more: by and with the community.

You’ll be working with a dynamic group of volunteers and visitors, helping to keep the Hub running day-to-day, as well as taking on a special focus of your own.

One special focus will be reaching out and drawing in: connecting with communities, groups and people around Swindon who are not using the Hub; building relationships, working in partnership and organising events and activities to see that the Hub is as inclusive and diverse as it can be.

The other special focus will be learning, skills & growing: supporting volunteers and visitors to the Hub, developing programmes of activities and opportunities - both internal and working with external partners - to help people learn, develop and grow.
