Lead a national charity at a pivotal moment of change and make a life‑changing impact for individuals and families affected by rare craniofacial conditions. 

Headlines Craniofacial Support is a UK-based charity providing information, advice and support to individuals and families affected by craniosynostosis and other rare craniofacial conditions.  The charity works closely with professional partners, including the 5 NHS Designated Specialist Craniofacial Units across the UK.

Craniosynostosis is a condition where two or more of the plates in the skull fuse prematurely, requiring medical support from a young age. Around 350 children are born with craniosynostosis each year in the UK.

Established by group of parents in 1993, Headlines now has over 2,500 members.  Within our charity offer we send out regular newsletters and an annual magazine, Headline News.  We also support families to connect through events such as an annual Family Weekend, conferences and Days Out, and provide information through our helpline and access to psychological support.  We have private social media groups and specific groups within our membership who meet regularly including Cranio Dads, Young Persons Network and a Teens Group.

After 8 successful years, our current Director will be retiring in 2026 and we are now seeking an enthusiastic, inspirational and proactive individual to take up the reins.This is a rare opportunity to lead a well-established, respected national charity at an important moment of transition.

Strategic priorities for us, moving forward, include increasing our fundraising activities to ensure sustainability of the charity alongside the smooth running of our core activities in providing support, facilitating research and raising awareness.

Key responsibilities

The Executive Director will hold day-to-day responsibilities, working closely with the Chair and Trustee Board to provide effective leadership and operational management of the charity. Specifically, they will:

• Act as an ambassador for the charity, liaising with members, health professionals and with wider community and provide day-to-day management of Headlines staff and activities, setting objectives in line with the operational plan.
• Ensure compliance with safeguarding, data protection and other legal, statutory and regulatory requirements and responsibilities.
• Work on behalf of and with the Trustees to deliver the charity’s mission, goals, operational plans and long-term strategy,  and act as a positive leader and role model, managing and motivating Headlines staff,
• Ensure effective financial management of Headlines working closely with trustees and the treasurer to ensure financial security and appropriate allocation of funds.
• Manage and enhance the event programme to meet charity objectives, including identifying and meeting members’ priorities and raising awareness of craniofacial conditions.
• Develop opportunities for collaborative working and partnerships with other organisations for the benefit of people with craniosynostosis and rare craniofacial conditions.  This also includes work overseas, predominantly in Europe with our medical and charity partners.
• Oversee communications and marketing activities to raise the profile of Headlines, its work and the needs of its members.
• Identify opportunities for growth, developing projects and keeping policies relevant, to enhance and expand the work of Headlines.
• Be responsible for generating funds through innovative and cost-effective fundraising activities and grant applications to maintain the long-term success of the charity.

Essential criteria

• An understanding of the importance of the charity’s values and priorities.
• Evidence of inclusive, innovative and proactive leadership, with demonstrable experience of fundraising and income generation.
• Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills with experience organising events and activities.
• Experience of successfully managing budgets and developing new and sustainable funding streams.
• Excellent organisational, presentation and communication skills and the ability to write reports for public consumption and for statutory obligations.
• A high level of digital literacy skills with an understanding of online technology and the application of social media.
• Proven track record in managing, leading and motivating staff and volunteers.
• Willingness to operate a hybrid model of working with most work taking place from home, working remotely with stakeholders and across the UK/ internationally for specific events.
• Experience of working within the charity sector, ideally at a management level and/or within  financial management of the charitable sector, with sound knowledge of the relevant legal requirements and regulations applicable to a charitable organisation.

Other information

Headlines hosts events and fundraising activities throughout the whole of the UK. All Headlines staff are expected to work flexibly to support those activities as required, e.g. attendance at Annual Family Weekend, conferences, member events, supporter receptions and other related scientific meetings and conferences. This may occasionally require travel and overnight stays. In addition, all staff are expected to be self-servicing in terms of administration and basic digital skills. Role Overview:

The Warehouse & Procurement Manager is responsible for leading the safe, efficient and compliant operation of Hackney Foodbank’s warehouse and logistics functions. The role oversees stock management, procurement, facilities, vehicle operations, staff and volunteer coordination, and operational planning to ensure uninterrupted food distribution across Hackney.

As a senior leader within Hackney Foodbank, the postholder will contribute to organisational planning, continuous improvement, and the development of systems and partnerships that support the charity’s mission to create a hunger-free Hackney.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsibility for the successful day-to-day management of the food bank warehouse.
• Line management of two warehouse staff, janitorial, and food distribution drivers.
• Collaborating with Volunteer Manager to ensure the warehouse always has sufficient volunteers, including volunteer drivers
• Leading and developing warehouse staff and volunteers through regular supervision, training and performance management.
• Setting and managing the food budget and reporting to the Head of Finance and CEO as required.
• Responsibility for purchasing, distributing, storing, sorting, and managing the food at Hackney Foodbank which align with demand trends and donation levels.
• Responsible for Health and Safety in the warehouse and attending Health and Safety Committee meetings.
• Ensuring compliance with food hygiene, food safety, manual handling and health & safety regulations.
• Maintaining warehouse risk assessments, safety procedures and compliance records.
• Leading on supplier relationships and negotiating value for money across food and operational purchasing.
• Collaborating with the Head of Fundraising to develop innovative and achievable corporate volunteer opportunities.
• Keeping records of all food movements in and out of the warehouse, using the Trussell Trust DCS system.
• Ensuring all food bank vehicles are maintained, roadworthy, insured and compliant
• Overseeing warehouse facilities management including maintenance coordination, contractor management, security and compliance checks.
• Collaborating with volunteers, staff, and other personnel using operational data to improve efficiency, reduce waste and support strategic planning.
• Working with a range of partners to source and distribute food,  and other household goods.
• Responsibility for submitting quarterly Board reports for the Trustees and weekly/monthly reports for the CEO and other interested personnel.
• Working with the wider Trussell Trust community to share best practice in warehouse management
• Collaborating with other team members to ensure the aims of the Hackney Foodbank are achieved.

Person Specification - Essential

•  Minimum of three years’ experience of warehouse management, including purchase and storage of food.
• Previous experience of working in a not-for-profit organisation, including recruiting, managing, and retaining volunteers
• Substantial previous experience of budget setting and budget management
• Excellent report writing and data reporting skills
• Strong organisational and prioritisation skills.
• Excellent team working skills, with ability to work across teams to get results and problem solve under pressure
• Outstanding interpersonal skills, including the ability to create a continuous improvement environment and promote information-sharing across the organisation.

About the role
We are recruiting for a Proposition Development Manager to join on a permanent contract. The full-time working hours for this role are 35 hours per week, however we are open to receiving applications from people who would like part-time hours with a minimum of 21 hours per week required (0.6 FTE). This is a home-based role, with occasional travel required for in-person team meetings and events.

As Proposition Development Manager, you will develop compelling and engaging propositions that will strengthen our ability to reach ambitious income and growth targets. This role will work collaboratively with the Senior Proposition Development Manager to meet with teams across the Society to understand key plans, impact models and budgets for our future work.

By utilising good copywriting skills, you will craft these propositions into compelling narratives for high value fundraising. You will work in collaboration with other teams, including working closely with fundraisers from across Corporate Partnerships and Philanthropy to support their aims.

Additionally, you will spearhead key projects that improve the rigour and effectiveness of our teams, whilst working closely with the Corporate, Philanthropy and Development teams, alongside Research and Service teams, to drive meaningful propositions that inspire support.

About you
Joining us, you’ll have demonstrable experience of utilising propositions for a high value audience, in addition to a track record of producing engaging and persuasive written copy that can inspire an audience. You’ll have demonstrated an understanding of the needs of high value audiences, including corporate partners, philanthropists, trusts, foundations and legacy supporters.

Crucially, you’ll be an effective problem-solver with the ability to use your organisational and prioritisation skills to manage projects effectively. You’ll have experience of proactively building relationships with stakeholders across different teams to ensure effective collaboration, with the ability to influence and negotiate to achieve required outcomes.

What you’ll focus on:

- Working closely with the Senior Proposition Development Manager to develop a range of compelling funding propositions that support the income and growth ambitions of the High Value Partnerships and Legacies Directorate.
- Utilising supporter data and information to create compelling fundraising propositions, spotting gaps and opportunities to write up current activity into inspiring communications, as well as leading on resources for newly launched projects.
- Building internal networks to allow you to translate Alzheimer’s Society’s activity into compelling resources that articulate the need, solution, budget and impact of our work.
- Proactively sharing information about ‘priority propositions’ in a range of formats, including by facilitating working groups and on team-wide webinars.
- Building relationships with key stakeholders across the organisation, including in Research, Dementia Support and Partnerships (Services) and Campaigns and Influencing, to understand priorities and work closely with key stakeholders to decide how activity can be packaged up.
- Working collaboratively with Corporate, Philanthropy and Legacy teams to understand supporter needs and the role propositions can play in enabling Alzheimer’s Society to reach our ambitious income goals.

The Role

The Head of Income Generation will play a critical role in bringing this mission to life through compelling storytelling, strategic relationship-building, and entrepreneurial fundraising. You’ll create a powerful case for support that inspires existing and prospective funders, while identifying new avenues for growth across trusts and foundations, major donors, and corporate partnerships. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver a 3-year fundraising strategy focused on securing sustainable funding and diversifying income streams

JOB PURPOSE 

The postholder is responsible for securing, managing, and growing commercial partnerships with organisations that support AdviceUK’s mission, values and strategic priorities. These partnerships should significantly increase AdviceUK’s commercial income, extend AdviceUK’s reach, and achieve measurable social impact. The postholder will ensure that commercial partnerships both comply with relevant legal and regulatory requirements and contribute positively to AdviceUK’s reputation and influence. 

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES  

1. Partnership development 

• Identify, research, and secure new commercial and corporate partnership opportunities aligned with AdviceUK’s strategic and income generation priorities. 

• Develop compelling partnership propositions, including sponsorships, strategic alliances, product/service developments, cause‑related marketing, corporate social responsibility, and other commercial collaborations. 

• Identify and develop new products and services that benefit members, grow income, and support member recruitment and retention. 

• Shape new products and services with user and sector insight, applying structured approaches to testing, evaluation and scaling. Ensure that pricing, return on investment and other financial modelling is completed to demonstrate how new products or services deliver agreed objectives. 

• Bring external market insight into AdviceUK’s strategic planning and decision making, ensuring that commercial partnership propositions are clearly differentiated in the markets they are targeting. 

• Work with the Head of Membership and Services, other colleagues at AdviceUK, and AdviceUK’s existing commercial partners to develop a commercial partnership strategy, business plan and pipeline. 

• Lead negotiations and contract discussions in partnership with the Head of Membership and Services, Finance and where relevant, AdviceUK commercial partners and subsidiaries. 

• Ensure all partnerships align with the charity’s mission, values and ethical standards.  

• Carry out appropriate due diligence and risk assessments on commercial partners

2. Partnership management and growth 

• Act as the primary relationship manager for AdviceUK’s current commercial partners and subsidiaries to ensure they feel valued, informed, and engaged throughout the partnership lifecycle. 

• Maximise the value of established partnerships through renewals, extensions, upselling opportunities, and agreed new income generation activity. Support cross‑team collaboration and knowledge sharing. 

• Identify opportunities for innovation and growth within AdviceUK’s commercial partnerships portfolio. 

• Support the communication of impact to partners, including reporting on outcomes enabled by their support. 

• Represent AdviceUK at events, conferences and networks relevant to the commercial partnerships portfolio.

3. Income generation and performance 

• Ensure all partnerships deliver against agreed financial and non‑financial objectives. Contribute to departmental budgeting and forecasting. 

• Monitor partnership performance and provide accurate reporting on partnership income, engagement, and impact. 

• Contribute to the ongoing review of existing commercial partnerships and service level agreements, making recommendations for change as required. 

• Share learning, insight, and good practice to continually improve commercial partnership approaches.  

• Ensure compliance with Charity Commission and Companies House guidance, relevant fundraising regulations, and internal governance policies.  

• Work closely with AdviceUK colleagues to deliver integrated partnership activities.  

4. Data and evidence

• Support the delivery of performance reports as required to evidence the extent to which commercial partnerships are achieving required KPIs. 

• Work with colleagues to ensure that partnership datasets are accurate, timely and support decision making. 

• Ensure any partnership activity that requires data sharing adheres to data protection and cybersecurity requirements. 

5. General responsibilities

About the role

Reporting in to the Individual Giving Lead, the Senior Individual Giving Acquisition Officer will drive the strategy and execution of Christian Aid’s individual giving acquisition efforts, ensuring high impact campaigns like Christian Aid Week, Christmas and Emergency Appeals effectively attract new supporters. Through compelling messaging and innovative approaches, foster long-term, sustainable relationships,
optimising channels, products, and engagement strategies to maximise supporter growth.

The post-holder will lead on Regular Giving acquisition recruitment across multiple channels to grow lifetime giving and increasing the Christian Aid supporter base. They will be leading a team of two Individual Giving Acquisition Officers and collaborating with senior leadership, manage budgets, forecast the performance of campaigns and ensure cost-effective delivery, all while championing the ‘Believe in the Possible’ proposition to inspire and engage the next generation of supporters.

You’ll carry out key administrative tasks, growing the support and development function of the Charity. This is an exciting opportunity to help Cambridge City Foodbank realise its vision of ending the need for foodbanks, through an ambitious strategy operating through networks of affordable food clubs, foodbank welcome centres, holistic support projects, and campaigning to change current systems which contribute to food insecurity.

Your tasks will include stewardship communications with individual donors and creating assets for community supporters to generate food and financial resources. You will assist the securing of income from grant giving trusts and foundations, and will undertake key executive assistant duties on behalf of the Development Director and CEO.

Main Duties:

● Develop strong individual donor relations through regular stewardship communications and powerful fundraising appeals, alongside establishing the associated data and systems;

● Create community development assets, which enables community groups to engage with and provide resources for the Charity, such as for charitable fundraising / food donation events.

Personal Specification:

Technical skills and minimum knowledge:

● Strong administrative experience, highly organised, and able to effectively juggle multiple administrative tasks at the same time!

● Competent in the use of Zoom/Teams and MS Office software. Training will be provided to upskill in the use of Canva, Mailchimp, donor databases and social media (such as LinkedIn and Instagram).

● Excellent written and verbal communication and relationship management skills, you will inspire and motivate existing and prospective supporters, providing excellent stewardship and crafting compelling donor updates, applications and appeals.

NB. Experience of charitable fundraising is not essential when demonstrating the strong transferable skills above. Training will be provided.
