We are seeking to appoint a Parish Support Officer to join our Governance Support Team, on a three-year fixed term contract, to assist with the ongoing program of change.
The Parish Support Officer will help to implement the Diocese’s vulnerable parish and building strategy by providing hands-on assistance to our most financially fragile. This role is particularly key where churches are in vacancy. The post holder will provide practical support to parishes regarding financial management, parish accounts and where necessary, the closure process, seeking guidance from colleagues as required.
The successful candidate will have a strong business acumen, with the ability to support parishes and provide practical support in a sensitive and compassionate way. They will be experienced with dealing with a range of stakeholders, able to develop clear action plans with the involvement of others, and follow these plans through.
The role will require travel throughout the Diocese so, a full driving licence and access to a vehicle would be advantageous, although the post could be adapted to a non-driver.
