Manchester International Festival (MIF) will return in Summer ‘21 with a celebration of international culture, innovation and creativity. MIF invites great artists from across the globe to create extraordinary new work for the Festival, which is staged every two years at venues and found spaces across Manchester. Our future home is The Factory, a world-class cultural space being built in the heart of the city, where we’ll present a year-round programme and artists will be able to develop work of huge ambition and scale that they might not be able to anywhere else. The Volunteer Coordinator will make a significant contribution to the planning, organisation and delivery of the Volunteer Programme for the 2021 Manchester International Festival, including leading on specific projects. The Volunteer Coordinator is a key post within the MIF Volunteering Team and the post holder will deputise for the Volunteer Manager as required.
- Contribute to volunteer recruitment for MIF21, ensuring and encouraging applications from diverse communities across Greater Manchester and supporting the application, selection and interview process for new and returning volunteers
− Plan, develop and implement projects within MIF’s volunteer programme which could include training and induction schemes, social events, volunteer placements and other volunteer activities leading up to, during and after the 2021 Festival
− Ensure efficient and accurate administration of the volunteer programme including maintaining databases and schedules, processing volunteer expenses and contributing to evaluation processes and reporting
− Manage Volunteer Team Leaders who in turn manage, support and encourage the wider volunteer team − Support co-ordination with MIF departments to ensure that their volunteer requirements are being met and that the volunteer programme is integrated into the work of the organisation to best effect. This includes contributing to the volunteering team’s relationship with key festival partners, ensuring that they are kept informed and involved both before and during the Festival
− Offer advice and information to volunteers and external organisations through face-to-face, telephone and email contact
This role is a 8-month Fixed Term Contract (Jan – end Aug 2021), working 35 hours per week.
