The Manchester Volunteer Advice Partnership (MVAP) recruits and trains advice volunteers centrally and then supports them in ways that enable them to develop. This has been a collaboration of Manchester Mind, Cheetham Hill Advice Centre, Greater Manchester Immigration Aid Unit, Manchester Refugee Support Network, Centrepoint, and, since December 2017, Manchester City Council. The project increases our respective capacities to meet the advice needs of our communities. We all share our talents and skills and the responsibility for this exciting project for which Manchester Mind serves as lead and accountable body.

Advice Supervisor

Salary: £28,785 pro rata (£17,271 actual)    |    Hours: 21 per week

Funding for this post is in place until 30th March 2021.

The skills and knowledge that are important to us are:

  • Supporting volunteer development
  • Collaboration
  • Advice in areas of social welfare law (benefits, debt, housing)

This part-time role is based at the Town Hall, where you would be supporting volunteers in Manchester City Council’s Homelessness Contact Centre. As such you would be working both within the Town Hall and at the Zion Centre in Hulme.
