Job description

Manor Gardens Welfare Trust are currently recruiting for a Family Mentor (Project Worker) to join our Early Parenthood Programme team, supporting pregnant women and new mothers and their families to give their babies the best start in life.

The Bi-lingual Family Mentor (Project Worker) will be responsible for providing a range of information and support services to improve the health and wellbeing of women using a whole family approach during the first 1001 days of a child’s life; seeking to engage fathers and extended family members, including senior members with the aim of achieving better outcomes for babies, children & families.

Our team’s work focuses on partnership with vulnerable women from a wide range of backgrounds, circumstances and experiences, but primarily with migrant, refugee and asylum seeking women and their families. We are invested in our communities and in creating sustainable, effective and wanted services which benefit families.

You would be joining an experienced team and gaining committed and supportive colleagues, and will be an integral part of the delivery and success of working with Turkish and Kurdish local communities. You will need to be fluent in both English and Turkish, and must be able to demonstrate understanding of bi-lingual community work and maternity, health and early years services in the UK.
