Job description

The Marfan Trust

The Marfan Trust is the only Marfan charity in the UK that funds its own laboratory undertaking medical and analytical research so that more is known about Marfan syndrome and its management. The results of the Trust’s internationally recognised research enable doctors and surgeons to provide better treatment for patients in the short and long term. Over 18,000 people are affected by Marfan syndrome in the UK, with many more anticipated to be living with the condition undiagnosed. Our important work hopes to improve the treatment of patients and increase awareness of this condition. For more information, visit our website.

This is a very exciting time to join the Marfan Trust as it has recently moved offices and merged with another Marfan Charity and is looking to develop a new fundraising strategy for the enlarged Trust in which the Fundraising Manager will be instrumental in developing and launching.

Overall Purpose of Job

The Marfan Trust requires an experienced fundraiser with strong marketing and communications skills to develop, implement and manage an income generation and awareness raising strategy for the Trust across all communications media, including events. The strategy will be aimed at individual supporters, Corporates, HNWI’s (High Net Worth Individuals), Trusts and Foundations so that the Trust can meet annual and longer term fundraising targets in order to find better treatment for Marfan syndrome, while educating patients, doctors and the public about this potentially fatal heart disease.
