Marie Curie’s mission has never been more important. In 2017-18, thanks to our generous supporters, over 40,000 people nearing the end of their lives received hands-on care in their homes or in a Marie Curie Hospice. However, many more people in the UK die without receiving all the care and support they need. Marie Curie is determined to ensure that everyone has the appropriate support at the end of their lives.
With a new Chief Executive recently appointed and an exciting new strategy and plan in fundraising approved, the charity is looking for a Director of Individual Giving & Loyalty to play a critical role in raising more funds to ensure even more people get the best possible end of life experience they can have.
Reporting to the Executive Director of Fundraising and Engagement and working closely with the Senior Leadership Team, the Director of Individual Giving & Loyalty will be responsible for deepening our connections with existing supporters and help Marie Curie engage with new audiences to grow income.
This is a big role and the successful candidate will need to possess energy, ambition and exceptional leadership and creative skills. The ability to inspire and motivate Marie Curie’s fundraising teams to achieve ambitious fundraising targets and to maximise talent and resources is a must. Marie Curie needs a leader who can build on existing success and maintain excellent standards of supporter experience that put the supporter at the heart of all their fundraising activities.
The successful candidate must have a proven track record in delivering sustained results and of working at a senior and strategic level, including previous extensive experience of leading large-scale direct marketing and public fundraising functions.
S/he must also possess outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, excellent judgment and decision-making abilities and a genuine commitment to the work of Marie Curie.
