Marie Curie is searching for a talented front-end developer to work within the development team, part of our digital centre of excellence. You would support the charity by continually improving the usability and development of its website, working on key areas such as the continuous improvement of our donation journeys, developing and maintaining our component library, developing our ecommerce platform and enhancing our memorial sites such as Memory Cloud.

This is an exciting time to join the team with plenty of opportunity to make your mark as we look to improve our digital tools and services and support ongoing improvement of our digital maturity.

Familiar with .NET and Episerver environments and operating within an Agile culture and methodology, the User Interface Developer works closely with and supports the technical team to implement a range of innovative web and product development projects in support of the strategic outcomes of the charity. They will work closely with the Digital Manager's team to ensure high standards for usability, optimisation and accessibility. This role requires a knowledge of CMS systems and the Microsoft technology stack and is the engine room of the development team.

What we are looking for:

The ideal candidate will have proven experience working with Sass, JavaScript (ES6+, Babel) and jQuery, CSS, HTML as well as build tools such as Npm and Gulp. They will know SVG, Razor syntax (ASP.NET framework) and have excellent skillsets in building websites with responsive design.

Also essential is a good understanding of web content accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1), best practices in site performance and optimisation as well as excellent skills designing for and testing compatibility across browsers and devices

Attention to detail is a must, along with an ability to work in a fast paced environment on multiple projects. We have a good collaborative approach and are looking for a self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills who is proactive, patient and with a diplomatic approach.

Highly numerate and literate, the candidate needs to have the ability to produce good quality written technical documentation
