Our ocean is beautiful, and it’s also under threat. The plight of the ocean and its neglected potential for climate recovery is a story we need to tell our audiences and stakeholders so they understand how vital it is to change its future. Are you a creative Digital Designer who has the talent and passion that will drive our profile and reach? Can you bring stories to life through creative ideation and the production of graphic and motion assets?
We are determined to create the actions that will make change happen for the future of our oceans and as our Digital Designer you’ll play a key part in the continuation of our vital work. You’ll be designing creative and engaging graphics, videos and interactive content for our website, emails and social media platforms which inspire and engage, and drive actions.
You’ll be the custodian of our (brand new!) brand to keep it looking great and performing well and helping the MCS team to make the most of our brand identity with user-friendly guidelines, toolkits and templates.

Graphic design: Across digital and print, a track-record of interpreting a brief with excellent image selection, layout and flexibility which works across a variety of digital platforms. Highly skilled with photo and video editing, including video production for social media audiences.
Brand identity: Experienced or with the skills to be our brand ambassador and creating content with flair but retaining our distinct brand identity. Supporting the MCS team by skill-sharing and creating accessible guides – with great listening and communications skills.
Delivery & our Values: Able to manage a range of projects and demands to some super tight timescales and working with our team to solve problems together. Takes a people-centric approach, supports others and enjoys working with a team of passionate advocates for our ocean and environment. We are looking for people who demonstrate our values, but who also contribute their own perspectives and experiences to add to our knowledge and our culture.
- Progressing the organisation’s digital presence by leading the design of creative and engaging graphics, videos and interactive content for our website, emails and social media platforms to achieve a high level of visual impact and engagement.
- Work on creative briefs from across the organisation designing downloadable and printed resources. Supporting print production as required.
- Maintain quality and consistency of visual identity, design style, user experience and brand feel across products in line with our personality and values. Work with colleagues to develop and evolve our visual brand.
- Ensure that design work is produced efficiently to strong workflow processes and in clear communication with stakeholders, with consideration given to organisational priorities and strategic goals.
