Marine Society and Sea Cadets are recruiting a part-time, 3 days a week, Resourcing Officer to work as a member of our National Support Centre, London office. In return, you will receive a competitive salary of £27-28,500K per annum pro-rata (£16,200 – 17,100 per annum).

Marine Society and Sea Cadets (MSSC) is a leading maritime charity in lifelong learning and personal development and is the governing charity of the Sea Cadet Corps (SCC), a civilian voluntary youth organisation engaging some 15,000 young people over 400 Sea Cadet Units, throughout the UK.  The SCC offers a wide range of youth opportunities with the same enduring objective – to give young people the best possible head start in life through nautical adventure and fun.

The Resourcing Officer  Role

We are seeking a part time Resourcing Officer who will manage the onboarding and mandatory checks for all our casual workers. We are looking for someone who has strong HR administrative background, who is highly organised and efficient with excellent attention to detail. You will have the ability to work closely with the recruiting line managers to help them manage their pool of casual workers. You will be responsible for ensuring accurate processing of safer recruitment practices, checking all the references, right to work and criminal records checks. You will generate contracts and other correspondence to ensure all the data is maintained accurately.

You will be super organised with the ability to juggle a number of roles simultaneously. We are looking for someone to take a robust and structured approach to ensure fair and transparent processes are followed. You will need to work closely with HR colleagues as part of a small team.

Key areas you will focus on as a Resourcing Officer  include:

- Managing the onboarding processes for all our casual workers
- Tracking progress against all candidates.
- Conduct rigorous pre-employment checks
- Managing ongoing renewals of all mandatory training and checks.
