Job description

Marine Society and Sea Cadets are seeking to appoint a Virtual Learning Content Manager. You will join us on a permanent basis based in London (temporarily homebased). In return you will receive a competitive salary of £31,000-£34,500 Gross per annum

Marine Society and Sea Cadets (MSSC) is a leading maritime charity in lifelong learning and personal development and is the governing charity of the Sea Cadet Corps (SCC), a civilian voluntary youth organisation engaging some 15,000 young people over 400 Sea Cadet Units, throughout the UK.  The SCC offers a wide range of youth opportunities with the same enduring objective – to give young people the best possible head start in life through nautical adventure and fun.

We are seeking a Virtual Learning Content Manager - Key areas will focus on:

- Leading and managing on the creation of all digital and virtual learning content for the learning directorate

- The promotion of, and consultation on digital learning across the organisation

- Project management of long term digital learning projects

- Closely working with the Communications Team to assist in the creation of online materials

Experience and skills you’ll need as our Virtual Learning Content Manager will include:

- A full understanding of, and experience in using e-learning creation tools and Learning

- Management Systems including creating SCORM activities

- Awareness of trends in the e-learning industry

- Understanding of learning methodologies, styles and e-learning standards

- Experience of managing, creating, delivering and maintaining e-learning

- Knowledge of best practice in accessibility and the creation of user-centred resources

- Experience of working collaboratively to create elearning material

- Educated to degree level in either or have the equivalent recognised training qualification/s with ability to translate the theoretical basis

- Experience in the innovative application of elearning technologies

- Demonstrable skills in the production of high quality e-learning materials using common authoring tools and technologies, such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript

- Experience in visual design, editing, filming and web video
