We are looking for an experienced CEO or senior charity manager, able to manage the business functions of a charity that is just starting out. You will have a proven track record of managing a small, prosocial organisation and setting up the systems necessary for success. You will have skills to work strategically, have business management skills, be able to lead and grow a team and work relationally.
As CEO an important goal will be to put the charity on a firm foundation for long-term sustainability. You will work with our fundraising consultant to ensure a steady income stream of core funding, ensuring financial stability for employees and building partnerships with local organisations to maximise impact and sustainability through collaborative work and partnership bids. This requires considerable, skilled networking and relationship-building, both within the Church’s Community Hub, with our existing partner VCFSE organisations and in the wider sector, including local Councils, PCNs and the ICB.
You will also be principally responsible for the organisation’s HR function, risk and compliance, as well as its monitoring and evaluation of impact (for quality assurance and fundraising purposes). This means ensuring best practice is observed and maintained in these and related areas, including line management, service policy, financial management, safeguarding and data privacy.
Knowledge and/or lived experience of mental health difficulties and the relevant support services/treatment modalities is essential; experience working within the mental health sector is highly desirable. We are seeking someone who is passionate about mental health and views this role as an exciting, long-term opportunity to make a significant difference to the lives of thousands of adults in Birmingham. About the role
This is an exciting time to join Young Lives vs Cancer as we set up a new Brand Marketing and Communications function including a team of digital experts.
The Senior Digital Marketing Officer role is part of the newly created Digital Engagement team working to deliver exceptional digital activity that delivers against organisational objectives.
You will work on digital campaigns across email, organic social and paid digital marketing channels, including PPC and social media. This role will be vital in setting up a new digital hub of expertise within the organisation and helping to drive forward the best use of digital channels.
·Support the Digital Engagement Manager and wider team to develop end-to-end campaigns across digital marketing channels including PPC, paid social and email from brief to execution and evaluation.
·Align the paid digital and email activity with our overall digital strategy and develop clear guidance around how to use our paid digital channels to maximum effect.
·Monitor the impact of marketing campaigns, identify and recognise trends within the data and use these to inform future campaigns.
·Support a data driven and test and learn approach within the team, encouraging continual learning and optimisation, particularly focused on a testing approach to donation journeys.

This role is remote and can be based anywhere in the UK with occasional visits to our London / Bristol offices.

·Managing marketing campaigns across digital channels including PPC, paid social and email. From brief through to execution and evaluation.
·Knowledge of how to effectively track and measure digital KPIs including an understanding of google analytics and how to report on and interpret data from digital channels
·Passion for working in the digital environment, discovering new channel opportunities, drawing on insight and the external environment to inspire teams
·An understanding of best practice across email marketing and digital journeys, as well as working with stakeholder teams to improve their knowledge and understanding of digital best practice.

Doorstep Library is a community-focused literacy charity dedicated to bringing the magic of books and the joy of reading directly into the homes of children who need our support. We are looking for an experienced fundraiser to head up our fundraising and marketing teams.
With one in four 11-year-olds leaving primary school unable to read or write properly, we recruit and train home and online reading volunteers to go into disadvantaged areas of London to help introduce young children (aged 0-11 years) to the pleasure and benefits of reading.

JOB SUMMARY

Annual Salary: 40k

JOB PURPOSE
· Strategic responsibility for fundraising, including partnership development and maintaining the charity’s strong relationships with our wide range of funding partners;
· Strategic responsibility for marketing, to increase the charity’s profile and increase engagement;
· To work closely with the SMT and actively contribute to the overall strategy and direction of the charity;
· To manage and build upon the income streams for the charity;
· To manage the charity’s fundraising operations including coordinating prospect research and prioritisation, managing workflows, and ensuring effective stewardship of donors, corporate supporters and trust and foundations grants;
· To oversee the charity’s marketing operations, including digital and printed content creation.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a Head of Fundraising to report to the Chief Executive Officer. The successful candidate will sit on the Senior Management Team, working closely with the CEO, Head of Operations and Head of Delivery and Engagement.
You will have substantial, proven experience of working in fundraising and of developing and sustaining partnerships, ideally in the third sector, and of how to build financial sustainability. You will be a highly organised people-person and will be responsible for line managing two Fundraising and Marketing Officers.
You will bring excellent communication skills and the ability to inspire others about our work. With outstanding interpersonal skills, you will have the ability to forge new relationships and you will thrive on enhancing our current partnerships and identifying and creating new ones.
Finally, you will be truly passionate about the work that we do to support children and families in disadvantaged areas of London and be driven to share our work with as many people as possible.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
Development and delivery of the charity’s fundraising strategy
· To work closely with the CEO and trustee board to lead on the development, planning and delivery the Doorstep Library’s fundraising strategy, with further development of a longer-term strategy;
· To manage and build upon the income streams for the charity;
· To take a lead on application bids, including managing, monitoring and evaluating all funding applications;
· To work closely with the SMT and actively contribute to the overall strategy and direction of the charity;
Grow, develop and sustain our partnerships and income streams
· To lead, deliver and grow our existing relationships with all of our funding partners; foundations, corporates, independent schools and individual donors to raise circa £850K pa;
· To identify new potential partners, working closely with the CEO and board of trustees to develop these partnerships;
· To establish a corporate supporters programme and individual giving campaigns, plus develop effective stewardship systems;
· To have responsibility for retaining and engaging the charity’s supporters, this includes providing formal reports and updates on the work of the charity;
· Working with the Fundraising and Marketing Officers to effectively communicate the impact of our work to internal and external stakeholders;
Communications
· Work with the Marketing Officer to implement improvements to our digital presence, including website optimization, social media strategy, and online advertising campaigns;
· Research and analyse sector news/ developments;
· Oversee the creation of the annual report and impact report;
· Create and maintain a stock of case studies/ success stories and photos;
· Monitor and report on the effectiveness of fundraising strategies and campaigns;
Line Management
· To have direct line management responsibility for the Fundraising and Marketing Officers;
· To create an environment where the team feels fully supported and enabled to grow and develop under your management;
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential Criteria
1. A proven track record of delivery results in fundraising and/or partnership management
2. Knowledge of successful fundraising from a variety of sources, including at least two of corporates, major donors, individual giving, local authorities and trusts & foundations
3. Proven experience in securing five figure gifts, managing the donor cycle from initial stages through to stewardship
4. The ability to maintain current income streams and identify opportunities for growth
5. Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly, succinctly and in an engaging manner in person and in writing to a variety of audiences
6. Strong relationship building skills – experience of working with a wide range of people, from large corporate teams to potential individual donors
7. Highly organised – ability to manage a number of projects and tasks at the same time
8. Ability to generate and implement new ideas and see them through to completion
9. A positive team player, working with, supporting and encouraging colleagues
10. Ability to work flexibly, adapting to rapidly changing demands and opportunities while retaining a clear strategic focus
11. Excellent organisation and administration skills, with the ability to pay attention to detail and use office systems
Desirable Criteria
1.Experience of line managing and developing staff in their fundraising abilities
2.Experience of working as part of a senior management/leadership team providing leadership on fundraising strategy to colleagues
3.Experience of working in a small, close-knit team
4.A knowledge of and/or interest in children’s literature/education sector

Job Background
We are looking for a Head of Fundraising who can work with the service delivery team to link earned income into the Fundraising Strategy, secure both unrestricted and restricted income and through grants, trusts and foundations as well as with corporate partners and individual donors. You will work collaboratively with teams across the charity and won’t be phased by the inevitable challenges that this will bring, or the constantly changing environment that the charity will be operating in the next few years.
In this pivotal role UKHarvest is seeking a strategic Head of Fundraising to lead the charity’s efforts in generating vital financial support and building meaningful relationships with donors, partners, and stakeholders. You will have a proven track record designing and implementing fundraising strategies that achieve revenue targets and have the charity’s ethos at the heart of everything you do.
Main Objectives
With responsibility for the Fundraising at UKHarvest, the post holder will:
- Research and manage a pipeline of trusts and foundation applications that offer restricted and unrestricted funding.
- Write applications, using information and expertise from colleagues as necessary.
- Identify new fundraising opportunities from a range of sources, including national and local government; individual supporters and commercial opportunities.
- Organise, plan and implement a fundraising strategy, yet be flexible enough to adapt to changing priorities and deliver against tight deadlines when required.
- Lead and manage the process of reporting to existing funders and Trustees.
- Nurturing relationships with existing supporters and partners.
- Align fundraising campaigns using your excellent communication skills to deliver broader organisational messaging and branding.
- Demonstrate excellent writing skills and attention to detail, capturing beneficiaries’ experiences and the ability to tailor messages to different audiences.
- Embed a culture of fundraising and effective storytelling throughout the organisation.
- Organise and lead regular fundraising meetings with the CEO.

Required experience
The successful applicant will have at least 5 years fundraising experience as a Head of Fundraising, managing and leading a fundraising team. A strategic thinker with the ability to identify opportunities, set priorities and drive results, you will have experience in developing and sustaining funding streams using a variety of techniques to secure restricted and unrestricted funding, major gifts, grants, events, and corporate partnerships; combined with exceptional communication skills to engage and inspire donors, volunteers and stakeholders. You will be able to motivate and develop a high performing team, set targets, and promote a collaborative culture. You will care about social justice, environmental sustainability and food waste as these pillars underpin all UKHarvest activities. The role will be predominantly based in the UKHarvest Chichester Hub with regular visits to the Nourish Hub in London.
