As an Organiser you will work across the UK supporting the development and delivering of key organising activity, drives and campaigns. You’ll be working closely with members and RCN staff developing strong nursing leaders and building effective structures that support members to win on the issues that matter to them and the nursing profession.
It's a job full of possibilities as you could get involved in anything from member engagement using digital technology; developing workplace teams; to co-producing with member and staff stakeholders a deep organising campaign.
The ability to foster strong professional relationships and encourage close collaboration between members is at the heart of this role. The ideal candidate will be able to evidence both knowledge of, and experience in organising tactics and tools. The ability to identify, recruit, train, develop and inspire member leaders and activists is at the heart of this role. Your experience should demonstrate your proven ability to identify issues and leaders, develop member structures that support their capacity to act and facilitate participation with people from an array of diverse backgrounds and cultures.
We’re looking for someone who can work as part of a team while hitting individual targets, who is a go-getter and can follow the direction set by their direct line manager, the Head of Organising and the overall strategic direction of the Organising Programme. What we deliver for our members is wide and varied so when it comes to how we work one size doesn’t fit all. We are a diverse organisation and understand everyone has different needs and many of our employees enjoy flexible working enabling them to deliver results whilst having a good work life balance. Departments and directorates have their own hybrid ways of working which put the needs of the service they deliver first– whether that’s to members or to colleagues - at their heart, in alignment with our hybrid working core principles. At the RCN it’s unlikely you will work from home for all of your working time. Equally no one is expected to work solely in the office unless your role requires it.
