About the Role
This fundraiser will work closely with senior academics in the Humanities Division. The post will focus primarily on funding for posts, scholarships and access and outreach in the academic faculties as well as securing support for the activities of the Cultural Programme and Schwarzman Centre for the Humanities. An interest and appreciation for the arts and humanities is essential.

Job Background
We are looking for a Head of Fundraising who can work with the service delivery team to link earned income into the Fundraising Strategy, secure both unrestricted and restricted income and through grants, trusts and foundations as well as with corporate partners and individual donors. You will work collaboratively with teams across the charity and won’t be phased by the inevitable challenges that this will bring, or the constantly changing environment that the charity will be operating in the next few years.
In this pivotal role UKHarvest is seeking a strategic Head of Fundraising to lead the charity’s efforts in generating vital financial support and building meaningful relationships with donors, partners, and stakeholders. Main Objectives
With responsibility for the Fundraising at UKHarvest, the post holder will:
- Research and manage a pipeline of trusts and foundation applications that offer restricted and unrestricted funding.

- Identify new fundraising opportunities from a range of sources, including national and local government; individual supporters and commercial opportunities.

Required experience
The successful applicant will have at least 5 years fundraising experience as a Head of Fundraising, managing and leading a fundraising team. A strategic thinker with the ability to identify opportunities, set priorities and drive results, you will have experience in developing and sustaining funding streams using a variety of techniques to secure restricted and unrestricted funding, major gifts, grants, events, and corporate partnerships; combined with exceptional communication skills to engage and inspire donors, volunteers and stakeholders. You will be able to motivate and develop a high performing team, set targets, and promote a collaborative culture. The Medical Sciences Division at Oxford has been ranked number one in the world for the last twelve years in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings for clinical, pre-clinical and health sciences. Recent accomplishments of the Medical Sciences Division include its research into the COVID-19 pandemic, most notably through the delivery of the Oxford–AstraZeneca vaccine, which is estimated to have saved over 6 million lives.
About the role:
This fundraiser will work closely with the Heads of Departments and academics in the Departments of Psychiatry and Clinical Neurosciences. The post will focus primarily on funding for research, academic posts, scholarships and infrastructure related to Neuroscience which includes Mental Health and neurological disease (e.g. Motor Neurone Disease, Dementia, Parkinson’s, Stroke and Epilepsy). The fundraiser will work on special projects including the possible major capital redevelopment of the Warneford site. While an interest in medical research and neuroscience is essential, you do not need to be a sciences graduate, just an enthusiast for knowledge.

Who are Women’s Aid?
Women’s Aid is the national charity working to end domestic abuse against women and children. We are a federation of over 170 organisations which provide just under 300 local lifesaving services to women and children across England. For almost 50 years we have campaigned on behalf of our members and survivors to shape policy and practice, and to raise awareness of domestic abuse.
Purpose of the Senior Communications Officer role:
As Senior Communications Officer, the successful candidate will be a creative, agile and impactful professional, who will play a pivotal role in shaping Women’s Aid’s communications campaigns, working closely with the Communications Manager and the Head of Media, Brand and Relationships. The successful candidate will take the lead on generating creative, engaging content and ideas for Women’s Aid communications – including major campaign moments and brand awareness. Working across all external channels, including traditional media and social media, you will curate compelling stories that build our profile and target key audiences in our mission to keep women and children safe from domestic abuse. You’ll be joining us at an exciting time, as we mark our 50th Birthday with some powerful campaigns and engagement.
Key duties and responsibilities of the Senior Communications Officer:

To be the key communications officer representing the communications team, developing the key messaging of external campaigns, brand-building and communications for the organisation and developing public awareness of these.

To lead on planning, drafting and implementing a communications plan for Women’s Aid key communications campaigns such as International Women’s Day, 16 Days, as well as wider organisational projects, incorporating press and social media and providing media support as required.

To develop relevant media and social media contacts, as well as contacts in the sector, to maximise the reach and coverage of key communications campaigns as well as wider organisational projects.

To work with colleagues to ensure the campaigns take an intersectional approach and centres the most marginalised voices.

To work with a diverse range of survivor case studies and media spokespeople, including Women’s Aid member organisations, and to ensure they are treated in an appropriate and safe manner.

To help identify both proactive and reactive media opportunities.

To write blogs, news articles and promotional copy for Women’s Aid.

To proof and typeset publications as required.

To be part of the communications team out-of-hours on call rota for media calls.

What we are looking for in our Senior Communications Officer:

At least two years experience working in communications/journalism/publications or similar.

Experience of liaising with a variety of individuals and organisations of all seniorities, internally and externally.

Experience of maintaining systems for information storage and retrieval.

Experience of online communications/websites/social media, including Content Management Systems.

Experience delivering public-facing campaigns with a range of stakeholders.

Experience in getting effective PR results.

Ability to produce high quality written material, for copy writing, copy editing and publicity materials, posters and press releases.

Capable of translating complex information into audience-friendly messages.

Ability to carry out a range of research and information-gathering activities.

IT skills, including accurate data inputting skills, ability to use Microsoft programmes, understanding of Content Management Systems and troubleshooting simple website problems, and willingness to learn new packages and IT skills as required.

Ability to communicate sensitively with survivors of domestic violence to discuss case studies.

Ability to work on own initiative and prioritise work, work to tight deadlines and respond to urgent unplanned demands.

About the role
We’re looking for a communications officer to assist the communications team in delivering Spinal Injuries Association’s (SIA) strategy to further enhance SIA’s standing as the expert guiding voice for life after spinal cord injury.
In close collaboration with the digital communications coordinator, you will help make our website the go-to, accessible source of information and support for the spinal cord injured community. You will also support in executing SIA's social media strategy, coordinating with stakeholders across the organisation to ensure impact and reach.
Duties include
- Be proactive in working with departments across the charity to generate diverse and compelling digital content that engages and informs our audiences, ensuring consistency and alignment with tone of voice and brand guidelines.
- Support with implementing the necessary changes to enable the website to achieve accessibility accreditation.
- Assist with the monitoring of analytics for the website.
- Support with the creation and updating of information across the website, including the SCI Knowledge Hub.
- Monitor the website for any broken links and issues and work with the digital communications coordinator to fix them in a timely fashion.
- Support in executing SIA's social media strategy, coordinating with stakeholders across the organisation to ensure impact and reach.

About you:
