Job description

The Bishop and Chapter are looking for an influential and inspirational team player to join the Chapter at Durham Cathedral.  At ‘the best Cathedral on planet earth’ we are seeking a colleague who is committed to investing up to one day per week in a vital and strategic role in enhancing the governance of the Cathedral, especially in the field of enterprise, such as marketing, commercial property, fundraising or visitor services.

With a professional qualification in, or evidence of significant senior level experience, in one of the following specialisms: marketing, commercial property management, fund raising; visitor services and/or commercial enterprise, and with supporting evidence of commercial or charitable experience at Board level, you will be passionate about our core purpose, committed to enabling the whole Cathedral community to live our values, deliver our strategic objectives and fulfil our vision.

As a member of Chapter you will draw upon your substantial experience of working collaboratively with a Board of Trustees or Governing Body, collectively and individually and will fulfil this challenging role with energy and resilience.

Being a person of faith, attentive to your own spiritual life, you will be have the opportunity to be influential in the mission of the Cathedral and the quest for excellence in every aspect of the ministry of the Cathedral.
