Overall purpose of the role
- To provide ICT support for both current and future ICT systems.
- To maintain our existing Hardware and Software to agreed standards.
- To develop and deliver ICT training for all staff to digitally upskill our workforce
Tasks and duties
ICT – Support, Maintenance, Training & Security
- Provision of technical and user support to staff having ICT issues.
- Assist in the implementation of various ICT projects.
- Deploy end user devices and associated peripherals including new installations, upgrades and the redeployment of existing equipment, including maintenance of ICT stock.
- Provide and maintain updates to the IT infrastructure and end user devices.
- Install and configure operating systems and software to agreed standards.
- Ensure the relevant security is implemented and all associated security protocols are followed and maintained.
- Maintain accurate manual and digital records relating to all work carried out and produce relevant documentation where appropriate.
- Assist with monitoring and review of system performance and the production of relevant report and statistics.
- Assist in the management of the internal telephone system.
- Undertake display screen equipment assessments for staff as required.
- To assist with the development of the website.
- To assist in the management and use of core applications, such as Finance, HR, Care and CRM systems to design and develop reports, user training and provision of support.
- Support of the Media systems, such as Smart TV, Xbox, PlayStation and associated Media systems
- To attend ICT meetings and keep abreast of ICT developments.
- Assist with IG Governance policies and procedures and to ensure compliance as directed.
- Provide support, and cover for the Head of IT/Digital.
- Any other reasonable duties as may reasonably be required by the Head of IT/Digital or other Senior Manager.

- To work in conjunction with the education co-ordinators to develop your practice and care for the children.
- To work contracted hours including unsocial hours as required weekends evenings and nights.

Employees may be required to drive a Martin House pool car. These cars are insured by Martin House and it is a requirement of the insurers that we have checked that any staff who drive the cars have a current driving licence.

Staff who support Martin House volunteers are expected to
- Carry out effective inductions for new volunteers in your department
- Lead and guide volunteers, providing the support needed to maintain morale and enable them to work effectively
- Supervise your volunteers appropriately in their day to day work and actively work to recognise the work that they do
- Ensure your volunteers have access to some personal time with you on a regular basis
- Ensure that your volunteers have an annual opportunity to reflect on their volunteering role with you
- Support appropriate volunteer learning and development within your team
- Communicate effectively with your volunteer team, and in line with the Martin House Staff Charter
- Play a role in the recruitment of new volunteers within your area, once appropriate training has been given
- Support the Manage performance issues with volunteers fairly and sensitively, taking advice from the HR department where appropriate
