Overall purpose of the role
- Working within the IT team, the primary role is to facilitate business investigation to support business change initiatives and act as a conduit between the business and IT delivery partners.
- To review existing line of business applications and provide a roadmap, plan and implementation for digital transformation to transform the Martin House traditional analogue business into a digitally enabled one
- To play a lead role in the deployment of Microsoft 365 and to leverage business improvements from MS365
- To ensure applications are secured and all measures are taken to eliminate security threats
- To digitally upskill our workforce and support the implementation of new systems within the business
- Management of the ICT trainer and administrator
Tasks and duties
ICT – Digital Innovation, applications and IT business projects
- Working with the business to identify inefficient processes, new opportunities and areas for improvement
- Management of ICT trainer and administrator
- Create new value through the smart use of digital tools, platforms, technologies, services, and processes
- To drive growth and business system renewal with digital platforms
- Be a digital evangelist, championing the use of digital technology and practices
- Collaboration, knowledge sharing, and digital best practices between partners and colleagues to help embed a robust digital ecosystem
- Measure ROI on digital projects, fine-tuning approaches as needed to ensure we're investing in the right tools and resources
- To review all legacy systems and produce a roadmap and implementation plan for digital change
- To lead on the implementation of Microsoft 365, utilising and leveraging the product to improve the business efficiency
- Develop and maintain and ensure compliance with all corporate and operational policies related to digital inclusion, its development and delivery particularly those related to information governance and GDPR
- To promote, train and digitally upskill our users in the use of new products
- Implementation of various ICT projects and efficient handover of support to the support team
- Provision of technical and user support to staff having ICT issues when necessary
- To assist in the management and use of core applications, such as Finance, HR, Care and CRM systems
- Maintain a high degree of customer service for all support queries and adhere to all service management principles
- Be expected to work outside normal office hours from time to time as the demands of the post and emergencies dictate.
- Assist with the preparation of the teams ICT operational plan
- Ensure the relevant security is implemented and all associated security protocols are followed and maintained.
- Maintain accurate manual and digital records relating to all work carried out and produce relevant documentation where appropriate.
- Assist with monitoring and review of system performance and the production of relevant report and statistics.
- To design and develop reports, user training and provision of support.
- To attend ICT meetings and keep abreast of ICT developments.
- Provide support, and cover for the Head of IT/Digital.
- Any other reasonable duties as may reasonably be required by the Head of IT/Digital or other Senior Manager.

Employees may be required to drive a Martin House pool car. These cars are insured by Martin House and it is a requirement of the insurers that we have checked that any staff who drive the cars have a current driving licence.

Staff who support Martin House volunteers are expected to

- Ensure your volunteers have access to some personal time with you on a regular basis
- Ensure that your volunteers have an annual opportunity to reflect on their volunteering role with you
- Support appropriate volunteer learning and development within your team
- Communicate effectively with your volunteer team, and in line with the Martin House Staff Charter
- Play a role in the recruitment of new volunteers within your area, once appropriate training has been given
- Support the Manage performance issues with volunteers fairly and sensitively, taking advice from the HR department where appropriate
