We are looking for a motivated and able Community Connections Coordinator for the Elmbridge area, who will appreciate this exciting opportunity of working with a variety of clients with mental health problems, helping them develop their potential.
MFT is a well-respected local charity, working in Surrey since 1994 to empower and support people towards recovery. We offer support through one-to-one interaction, groups, courses and activities, both on-line and face-to-face. We need someone who is flexible and imaginative to help us to continue with the current range of activities on offer and help us to develop more to meet the changing needs of the people who use our services.
People come to us by self-referral or through referrals from other agencies such as the local mental health team, GP practices, Social Prescribers and community groups, and the successful applicant will need to liaise with these and other organisations in order to promote the service and raise awareness.
The role will mainly focus on working with individuals, and with setting up the groups and activities that run locally, based on the Social Model, to help people to reconnect with the community as part of their journey towards improved mental health. MFT firmly believes that good mental health should be seen in parity with good physical health, so we include physical health courses and activities in the programmes we run.
This is a great job for someone with vision and imagination, who is as passionate about helping people to fulfil their potential as the rest of our team.
The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.
