We are seeking an experienced advice service manager to deliver and supervise advice and training on maternity and parental rights at work, maternity pay and welfare benefits. The role will manage Maternity Action’s Maternity Rights Advice Lines (national and regional services) and develop management systems across the other advice services. The role will also develop new advice and training services. Our advice services operate remotely.
We are looking for a solicitor, barrister or adviser with thorough knowledge of either welfare benefits for low income families or employment and discrimination law. We are looking for someone with experience in managing a specialist service in a related area of law, understanding of quality assurance techniques, experience in preparing evaluation reports and reports to funders, excellent written and spoken communication skills and a commitment to women’s rights.
The posts is 28 hours per week. We will also consider applicants who can work at least 21 hours. The post can be delivered from our office in Finsbury Park, London or home-based from any location in the UK. There is a core day (Thursday) and we are otherwise flexible about start/finish time and days worked, within normal business hours.
This is a three year post ending 31 July 2023.
