New Opportunities, New Approach, New Challenge

Housing Agent
Northamptonshire, Westminster and Oxford
37 hours per week
£26,000 + Benefits

Mayday Trust recently published Wisdom from Behind Closed Doors, an enquiry capturing the voices of people living in supported accommodation. The results highlighted the urgent need for a more person-led, human and positive approach to housing that allows people to take control and sustainably move on into a stable and connected community environment.

In response, Mayday is radically shaking up the norm and embarking upon an exciting new challenge; testing and informing a new way of working with people living in Mayday accommodation.

Mayday is now looking for Housing Agents who are passionate about tackling social injustice, are tenacious and energetic in their approach and willing to challenge and be challenged to make housing work for people.

If you’re not afraid to leave your ego at the door and genuinely put the people you’re working alongside first, then read on!

This is a fantastic opportunity for five like-minded people to join the Mayday Housing Team, operating within the Northamptonshire, Oxfordshire and Westminster areas.

  • 1 post in Oxford
  • 1 post in Westminster
  • 3 posts in Northamptonshire

Working within a community team, the Housing Agent will bring a fresh mind-set and approach to working alongside people to find the accommodation that works for them. A core part of this role will involve being aware of power dynamics and listening to what people are experiencing, as well as identifying and removing barriers that have been created by the system that limit a person’s ability to move on sustainably.

This role has never been done before. Mayday welcomes applicants with experience in working within a housing environment, but we are also looking for those who resonate with the Mayday ethos and believe that the system needs to change.

So if you’re ready to disrupt the system then please get in touch!

  • Closing date for receipt of applications: 29th September 2019
  • Assessment Day to be held 2nd October 2019
  • Interviews to be held 3rd, 4th and 9th October 2019
