Job description

We are seeking an inspiring leader to help the Mayor deliver his ambition for improving outcomes for children and young Londoners. 

The Head of the Children and Young Londoners team will lead and manage the team and have oversight of all policy, strategy, programmes and partnership Mayoral ambitions.

You will work closely with the with the Assistant Director for the Health, Education & Youth Unit and the Deputy Mayor for Education & Childcare and the Director of the Mayor’s Violence Reduction Unit to provide high level professional advice to the Mayor, other Deputy Mayors and advisers on a wide range of policy, advocacy and programmes relating to the Mayor’s priorities for children and young Londoners.

With responsibility for the design and delivery of a wide range of youth focused projects and programmes you will ensure performance targets, outcomes and value for money objectives are met and, working to the Assistant Director for the Health, Education and Youth Unit, set shared strategic priorities and alignment across the team and with other units and Directorate.

This role will be based at London Fire Brigade’s Head Office (Union Street SE1 0LL).
