Job description

The GLA is recruiting to a number of vacancies in the Social Integration Team.

The GLA is looking for enthusiastic and organised policy and projects officers to lead work on migrant and refugee integration within the growing and busy Social Integration team.  The Social Integration Team is a growing team that works with colleagues across the GLA to:

  • Deliver key initiatives with social integration at their heart;
  • Lead policy and advocacy work to remove specific barriers to social integration;
  • Mainstream social integration in the organisation’s strategies, projects and policies; and
  • Partner with a wide range of stakeholders to affect change for Londoners.

You will work with professional and community stakeholders on strategic issues for London. We are looking for someone who can take the initiative, who is excellent at relationship building and who has some knowledge and experience of immigration policy and migrant and refugee integration.

Senior Policy and Projects Officer (Migration and Refugees)


Fixed Term or secondment until March 2020

You will work with professional and community stakeholders on strategic issues for London, including managing the London Strategic Migration Partnership, the Migrant and Refugee Advisory Panel, and a small team leading on ESOL and Refugee Resettlement.

Senior Project Officer (ESOL Coordination)

£26, 110

Part Time (0.6 FTE job share - Wed/Thurs/Friday with some flexibility subject to discussion)

Fixed Term or secondment until March 2020

You will work with London stakeholders to harness the complementary role of informal English language support alongside formal ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages).

Senior Project Officer (Refugee Resettlement)


Fixed Term or secondment until March 2020

You will work with London stakeholders to develop a sustainable community sponsorship programme for refugee resettlement in London, including generating new offers of support, securing commitments and developing relevant policies, processes and structure to support the programme to thrive.
