The MedicAlert Foundation has been providing life-saving support and assurance to its members since 1964. In the event of an emergency crucial information can be accessed by emergency professionals allowing for fast and accurate treatment. As the original and best provider of medical ID services, MedicAlert is a small, friendly and productive charity with its own production unit and member support team including in-house medical professionals. We place our members at the heart of all we do providing them and their loved ones with peace of mind and giving them confidence to live life to the full, be active and join in.

There are X2 Trustee Board Member positions available:

Role 1: Trustee Board Member - building and developing strategic alliances

About the position:

We are looking to recruit a Trustee with strong demonstrable skills in building and developing strategic alliances to support the charity’s growth strategy. For this role we are seeking candidates who have gained senior level experience, with a track record of identifying, introducing and building mutually beneficial partnerships. Skilled in developing third party business relationships, you will help maximise existing networks and contacts to develop new opportunities. Passionate about our charity’s work, you will help us secure, strong, long term partnerships that increase membership, improve income and add value for our members.

Trustees must meet the following requirements:
Essential:

  • Experience of senior external representation and advocacy leading to the establishment of beneficial third-party collaborations, relationships and commercial growth
  • An ability to contribute to strategic direction and a passion for delivering quality services to our members
  • Strong teamwork skills, ability to motivate and bring people together

Desirable:

  • Experience across several sectors, potentially including charities
  • Experience and understanding of charity governance and working with or as part of a Board of Trustees

Role 2: Trustee Board member with experience in the healthcare sector
About the position:
We are looking to recruit a Trustee with a clinical background to help develop our links with the NHS

and emergency services and to provide a medical perspective on our strategy development.

For this role we are seeking candidates who have gained senior level experience within the

healthcare sector and have a passion for improving the health and well-being of our members,

enabling them to have the peace of mind and confidence to live life to the full. We would

particularly welcome candidates with urgent or emergency care experience.

Trustees must meet the following requirements:
Essential:

  • A clinical background, gained from medical, nursing, allied disciplines or social care at a senior level in a clinically focused role
  • An ability to influence the strategic direction of an organization and have a passion for delivering quality of service to our members
  • Experience of senior external representation and advocacy, preferably within the healthcare sector
  • Strong teamwork skills, ability to motivate and bring people together.

Desirable:

  • Experience of managing external stakeholders, ideally within the healthcare sector
  • Experience and understanding of charity governance and working with or as part of a Board of Trustees
