Job Description

Membership and Training Officer, Wales (Part-time: 2.5 - 3.5 days, flexible)

LawWorks is the operating name for the Solicitors Pro Bono Group. We are a charity that promotes, supports and encourages legal pro bono activity across England and Wales, using its experience and understanding to ensure pro bono efforts are targeted where they can be most effective and have the greatest impact.

LawWorks Cymru

Our experience in Wales, where we established LawWorks Cymru in 2013, has shown us the value of having staff based locally to support pro bono initiatives, develop new pro bono opportunities and to increase engagement from the local legal profession. LawWorks is pleased to have been awarded three year funding by the National Lottery through the Big Lottery Fund to build on and develop our work in Wales.

In Wales, we have recently appointed a new Cardiff-based Clinic Support and Development Officer to start in January 2017. We are currently recruiting for a Membership and Training Officer (part-time). This role (together with the Clinic Support and Development Officer) will build on the first three years of our work in Wales, continuing to support our existing stakeholders, increase the number of LawWorks members in Wales, and to engage with stakeholders to celebrate and share learning on the pro bono work being delivered in Wales.

Key priorities for this role will be:

  • To develop and grow LawWorks membership and engagement with legal organisations including private firms and corporate in-house teams interested in pro bono;
  • To provide guidance and support to our members and pro bono volunteers, identifying training needs and organising local training and support events;
  • To promote and celebrate pro bono opportunities across Wales and support members and their employees to volunteer.

The ideal candidate will be a confident networker who is able to identify opportunities and see them through to completion. All of LawWorks’ work is delivered through partnerships so it is essential that candidate is personable, collaborative and an effective communicator.

Flexible working arrangements will be available and while some occasional weekend or evening work may be required, time off in lieu will be given.

Salary:£22,937 per annum (pro rata)

Hours: 17.5 – 24.5 hours per week (2.5 – 3.5 days)

Term:Fixed term contract to 08/01/2020 with potential to extend

Please apply by 9am on Monday 30th January 2017.

Swyddog Aelodaeth a Hyfforddiant, Cymru

LawWorks yw enw gweithredu Grŵp Pro Bono'r Twrneiod. Cafodd yr elusen ei sefydlu yn 1997, ac mae’n hybu, yn cefnogi ac yn annog gweithgareddau pro bono ledled Cymru a Lloegr drwy ddefnyddio ei brofiad a’i ddealltwriaeth i sicrhau bod ymdrechion pro bono yn cael eu hanelu lle gallant fod fwyaf effeithiol a chael yr effaith fwyaf.

LawWorks Cymru

Yn ôl ein profiad yng Nghymru, lle wnaethom ni sefydlu LawWorks Cymru yn 2013, mae gwerth mewn cael staff ar gael yn lleol i gefnogi mentrau pro bono, datblygu cyfleoedd pro bono newydd a chynyddu ymgysylltiad y proffesiwn cyfreithiol lleol. Mae LawWorks yn falch ein bod wedi cael tair blynedd o gyllid gan y Loteri Genedlaethol drwy Gronfa’r Loteri Fawr i ddatblygu ac adeiladu ar ein gwaith yng Nghymru.

Yng Nghymru, rydym wedi penodi Swyddog Cefnogi a Datblygu Clinigau yn ddiweddar i ddechrau yng Nghaerdydd ym mis Ionawr 2017. Ar hyn o bryd, rydym yn recriwtio ar gyfer Swyddog Aelodaeth a Hyfforddiant (rhan amser). Bydd y swydd hon (ynghyd â’r Swyddog Cefnogi a Datblygu Clinigau) yn adeiladu ar dair blynedd gyntaf ein gwaith yng Nghymru, gan barhau i gefnogi ein rhanddeiliaid presennol, canfod cyfleoedd i ddatblygu clinigau pro bono newydd i ddiwallu anghenion cyfreithiol nad ydynt yn cael eu diwallu, ac ymgysylltu â rhanddeiliaid i ddathlu a rhannu’r hyn a ddysgir yn y gwaith pro bono a wneir yng Nghymru.

Dyma flaenoriaethau allweddol y swydd:

  • Datblygu a thyfu aelodaeth LawWorks ac ymgysylltu â sefydliadau cyfreithiol gan gynnwys cwmnïau preifat a thimau mewnol corfforaethol sydd â diddordeb mewn pro bono;
  • Rhoi arweiniad a chymorth i’n haelodau a gwirfoddolwyr pro bono, gan ganfod anghenion hyfforddi a threfnu digwyddiadau hyfforddi a chefnogi lleol;
  • Hyrwyddo a dathlu cyfleoedd pro bono ledled Cymru a chefnogi'r aelodau a’u gweithwyr i wirfoddoli.

Bydd yr ymgeisydd delfrydol yn hyderus yn rhwydweithio, a bydd yn gallu canfod cyfleoedd ac yn bwrw’r maen i’r wal. Mae holl waith LawWorks yn cael ei wneud drwy bartneriaeth, felly mae’n hanfodol bod yr ymgeisydd yn ddymunol, ac yn cydweithio ac yn cyfathrebu’n effeithiol.

Cyflog:£22,937 y flwyddyn (pro rata)

Oriau: 17.5 – 24.5 awr yr wythnos (2.5 – 3.5 diwrnod)

 Cyfnod:Contract cyfnod penodol hyd at 08/01/2020 gyda’r posibilrwydd o’i ymestyn

Gwnewch gais erbyn 9am ddydd Llun 30ain Ionawr 2017.
