Role Summary

You will work closely with The Governance and Team Lead to ensure smooth and effective running of our finance and HR processes. You will work with the wider team supporting their effective delivery of training and projects as well as provide day to day support. This is a mixed and self-directed role with opportunity to contribute to a range of work and projects. We require some core office hours, by agreement and support team members to work flexibly to accommodate good work/life balance.

Role Description

HR

• Support management of team Compliance and Training
• Support the organisation to be legally compliant
• Support the organisation to reflect its values in HR process

Finance

• Issue invoices and monitor and pursue unpaid invoices
• Manage and administer monthly procedures linked to payroll
• Manage and monitor monetary transactions
• Monitor expenditure against budgets
• Monitor and support wellbeing fund spend
• Monitor associate invoices and provide support as needed

General

• Be a point of contact and support team members
• Support to project team including monitoring emails and responding to enquiries
• Support online events and manage bookings
• Provide basic IT support to team members
• Format documents in line with the company brand guidelines
• Support team members to produce reports and presentations
• Work with our team and partners to enable Neurodiverse Connection to run efficiently in line with the overall company aims

Windsor Road service offers 11 beds to people experiencing mental ill health.  We are a CQC registered residential care home. We offer individual one to one interventions and sessions such as social anxiety, anxiety, finance and budgeting, positive self-image, building self-esteem, support with diet and nutrition, healthy eating, sleep hygiene, DBT skills, building resilience, life skills, solution-based therapy, stress management etc. We offer a range of activities in our service planner including a daily coffee morning, a ‘here and now’ group, community gardening, cooking, arts and crafts, social inclusion and family and friends’ days.  We support our residents with daily living skills where this is needed, such as support with shopping and cleaning tasks, this could include prompting or supporting alongside them. We also work closely with other agencies and our residents wider care teams, so good communication skills are required. And of course, all of this is recorded on our information management systems, so good record keeping and documentation is also essential. Our service consists of 8 24/7 Recovery Workers, a Service Manager and Registered Manager.

But we also know that if we provide the right support, at the right time, we can inspire recovery nationwide and that recovery is possible for everyone. That’s where you come in. Responsible for helping and inspiring the people who use our services to achieve independence in the community, we’ll rely on you to work with them to come up with a person-centred support plan that will see them achieve their goals and aspirations, as part of your key worker role. Whether it’s developing their domestic and finance management skills or accessing work or volunteering or educational opportunities, one thing’s for sure ‐ you will have every chance to shine.

Care home, mental health support or social care experience is preferred. You will be required to administer medication and complete a medication qualification and the care certificate. Candidates with an understanding of mental health issues and/or lived experience would be welcomed. Our Part-Time Fundraising Officer will support the organisation's fundraising joining a high performing team of fundraisers.

Job deliverables:

• Identify and maximise opportunities to raise unrestricted and restricted funds from small trusts and other funding bodies to ask for grants up to £10,000
• Plan, prepare and write compelling applications for funding
• Build relationships with trusts, foundations and other funding bodies that help Bipolar UK secure long-term funding and support
• Achieve income targets that support Bipolar UK’s strategic service delivery goals
• Keep accurate records on Salesforce CRM
• With the Trusts Manager, develop our ‘thank you’ processes and donor stewardship programmes
• Create reports and updates for donors that bring to life the impact of their support
• Meet regular deadlines and manage your own workload
• Develop excellent working relationships across Bipolar UK
• Develop and maintain your knowledge of the charity sector and fundraising environment, to keep up to date with changes
• Be administratively self-supporting
• Understand and empathise with the beneficiaries and portray them (and the work of Bipolar UK) with sensitivity and accuracy
• Undertake any other duties that are relevant to the job as requested by the Trusts Manager and the CEO
• Work closely with other members of the fundraising team including the Partnership Development Manager and Strategic Partnership Manager, and collaborate on tasks and projects where applicable

Derwent Square is a mental health project, that offers supported housing to 5 Residents. We are currently working to a recovery model and our aim is to provide stability and environment to learn skills that will promote independence in the customer. We provide a range of support services for people with mental health to access their local community, including living skills, support with medication management and peer support through individually tailored support plans. Our ultimate goal is to empower our customers with the skills for them to flourish in an independent setting.

Lincolnshire Crisis Service have two houses in the county, one in Boston and another in Lincoln, we provide a range of support for people with mental ill health and both work to a recovery model. We have been operating in the area for a number of years and offer a staffed service to our residents aged 18 and upwards. This role does require you to work varied hours as the service is 24/7 and may include some sleep in shifts, these are paid in addition.

We know that recovery can look and feel very different to each and every one of us. But we also know that if we provide the right support, at the right time, we can inspire recovery nationwide and that recovery is possible for everyone. That’s where you come in. Responsible for helping and inspiring the people who use our services, we’ll rely on you to work with them to come up with a personal support plan that will see them achieve their goals and aspirations. Whether it’s developing their domestic and finance management skills or accessing work, leisure or educational opportunities, one thing’s for sure – you will have every chance to shine. 

Candidates with an understanding of mental health issues would be welcomed and full training will be provided. Lowther Street Crisis House is the only community crisis house in Cumbria. The service was established to provide a unique alternative to psychiatric admission. The project delivers a holistic package of support in a safe, comfortable and supportive environment without the stigmatizing effects and restrictions of hospital environment.

Advocacy 1st is a free, independent service provided by advocates who specialise in the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act and the Mental Health Act.

Key duties:

· Recruiting, training and providing ongoing support to volunteers

· Working with the children and young people to assess their service requirements

· Working with stakeholders to raise awareness and recognise and identify care leavers and young people in need of the Independent Visitors and Care Leavers service

· Looking at opportunities to engage and work with services to identify care leavers and independent visitors

· Reporting and discussing all safeguarding concerns with the service manager

· Completing initial assessments and matching volunteers to young people

· Raising the profile of the Independent Visitors and Care Leavers service

Our ideal candidate:

· Has qualifications relevant to the role

· Has experience of working with children and young people.

· Is aware of legislation such as Care Act 2014, Children and Families Act 2014, Children Act 1989, United Nations Convention on the Rights of the child (UNCRC)

· Has excellent communications and writing skills, and the ability to tailor written and verbal communications to a wide range of different audiences
