Hours of Work - 30 to 37.5 hours per week, over 4 to 5 days - flexible for the right candidate

What you’ll do:
Our Finance Manager will report to our Head of Finance and Resources and be a member of our Finance Team, you will be responsible for ensuring the financial records of the charity are accurately accounted for in a timely manner and for supporting growth of the charity in a controlled a sustainable way.
You will directly line manage our Finance Assistant, manage relationships with 3rd parties and be financial business partner to key stakeholders.
We are ambitious and we need you to help us shape the operational and strategic direction of Green Light Trust. This will be achieved through robust, accurate bookkeeping, effective process and system controls, regular financial planning, the provision of financial information and analysis to support sound decision making and continuous improvement in controls and processes.
The priorities in this role will be:
- Management Accounting: Creditor and debtor control to ensure all amounts owed to and from the charity are managed in a robust manner, ensuring accurate and timely reporting to support decision making, in line with organisation and statutory requirements.
- Financial Accounting: Day to day treasury management, accurate and timely bookkeeping in line with statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Payroll: Co-ordinate with HR colleagues and 3rd party payroll processing bureau to ensure all members of staff and associated other payroll liabilities are paid correctly and on time.
- Financial Planning: producing cash flow forecasts on a quarterly basis, collaborating with budget holders and supporting the Head of Finance to prepare robust income and expenditure budgets and quarterly re forecasts.
- Analysis and Business Partnering: provide ad hoc and routine analysis to support decision making and support to budget holders to ensure ongoing spend control.
- Process improvement: support Head of finance to identify opportunities to ensure all processes system outputs are effective and manual input is minimised.
- Line management of finance assistant; providing coaching and guidance to support ongoing development and ensuring there are appropriate levels of cover for team processes, during periods of absence.
- General: Ensure all computerised systems are used and maintained in accordance with established processes and best practice and support the Head of finance on the implementation of a new fit for growth finance system.

Work closely with the Chief Executive and team to maintain effective financial and IT administrative systems.
- Ensure smooth management of financial and IT systems, policies, and procedures.

Role Summary
You will work closely with The Governance and Team Lead to ensure smooth and effective running of our finance and HR processes. You will work with the wider team supporting their effective delivery of training and projects as well as provide day to day support. This is a mixed and self-directed role with opportunity to contribute to a range of work and projects. About the role
We are looking for someone who wants to make a real and lasting difference to people’s lives, taking the lead on generating the income required to deliver the Farm’s services and maintain our central functions and infrastructure. With support from the Farm’s Director, who is an experienced fundraiser, you will develop and implement the fundraising strategy for the Farm, leading on the delivery of key activities, initiatives and opportunities.
You will confidently take on the leadership of the Farm’s well-established fundraising from trusts and foundations, growing our unrestricted income base and attracting multi-year funding to support our projects. We anticipate that the postholder will spend 75% of their time managing and growing our existing trusts and foundations portfolio and 25% on building a new individual giving programme. Windsor Road is a registered CQC residential care home which offers 11 beds to people experiencing mental ill health. We offer individual one-to-one interventions and sessions such as social anxiety, anxiety, finance and budgeting, positive self-image, building self-esteem, support with diet and nutrition, healthy eating, sleep hygiene, DBT skills, building resilience, life skills, solution-based therapy, stress management etc. We offer a range of activities in our service planner including a daily coffee morning, a ‘here and now’ group, community gardening, cooking, arts and crafts, social inclusion and family and friends’ days. We support our residents with daily living skills where this is needed, such as support with shopping and cleaning tasks, this could include prompting or supporting alongside them. We also work closely with other agencies and our residents wider care teams, so good communication skills are required. And of course, all of this is recorded on our information management systems, so good record keeping and documentation is also essential. Our service consists of 8 24/7 Recovery Workers, a Service Manager and Registered Manager.

We are looking for an experienced CEO or senior charity manager, able to manage the business functions of a charity that is just starting out. You will have a proven track record of managing a small, prosocial organisation and setting up the systems necessary for success. You will have skills to work strategically, have business management skills, be able to lead and grow a team and work relationally.
As CEO an important goal will be to put the charity on a firm foundation for long-term sustainability. You will work with our fundraising consultant to ensure a steady income stream of core funding, ensuring financial stability for employees and building partnerships with local organisations to maximise impact and sustainability through collaborative work and partnership bids. This requires considerable, skilled networking and relationship-building, both within the Church’s Community Hub, with our existing partner VCFSE organisations and in the wider sector, including local Councils, PCNs and the ICB.
You will also be principally responsible for the organisation’s HR function, risk and compliance, as well as its monitoring and evaluation of impact (for quality assurance and fundraising purposes). This means ensuring best practice is observed and maintained in these and related areas, including line management, service policy, financial management, safeguarding and data privacy.

Trusts and Grants Fundraiser
Offering flexible working with a friendly team, we’re looking for a Trusts & Grants Fundraiser to support The Haven’s financial sustainability through efficient grant research, application, and grant management. You will navigate the world of trusts, foundations, and grant-making bodies to identify funding opportunities aligned with our objectives and submit high quality applications for support.
Your responsibilities include maintaining a well-organised grant pipeline, tailoring applications to funder criteria, and collaborating with colleagues across The Haven to ensure projects are delivered and measured. Building and nurturing relationships is essential. Your contributions will inform our grants strategy, ensure ethical practices, and contribute to our mission's success.
The role is full-time or part-time (30 hours), and can be remote, hybrid, or office based in Wolverhampton, depending on your preference.

Main Responsibilities
- Grant Research, Application and Management:
- Conduct research to identify potential funding opportunities from trusts, foundations, and other grant-making organisations to align with The Haven’s goals, priorities, and funding needs.
- Develop and maintain a robust grant pipeline, tracking the progress of all grant applications from identification to closure. Include monitoring and review of application and reporting deadlines.
- Collate external research and collaborate with frontline managers and staff, as well as other team members to gather pertinent, compelling information needed to develop robust cases for support.
- Prepare tailored funder applications that match the specific requirements and guidelines of each funder.
- Provide relevant materials and support to The Haven’s communication team regarding grants publicity, ensuring funder requirements are met.
- Work closely with project delivery leads to deliver comprehensive grants handovers to ensure compliance with all grant agreements, terms, and conditions, ongoing monitoring and evaluation is in line with funder reporting requirements, and submission of timely high quality reports.
- Collaborate with the finance team to develop grant budgets and monitor expenditure against the project budget, to ensure funds are spent as required and in a timely manner.
- Maintain documentation and records, ensuring The Haven’s CRM is kept up to date.
- Stay up to date with statutory contract opportunities and share information with relevant colleagues as and when opportunities arise.
- Support the tender writing process, undertaking research and developing copy with the support of the Senior Leadership Team where needed.
- Support the monitoring and administration of tender submissions, including deadline tracking, monitoring communications received and updating colleague stakeholders.
Relationship Management:
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing donors and funding partners, and initiate and nurture relationships with new prospective donors and funding organisations.
- Identify opportunities for stewardship of relationships and explore engagement activities and events.
Grant Strategy and Planning:
- Contribute to the development of The Haven’s grants strategy.
- Identify long-term funding opportunities and trends within the grants landscape.
- Capture, track, and analyse data to evaluate the success of applications and make data-driven decisions for future strategies.
- Work towards agreed metrics and KPIs.
Compliance and Best Practice:
- Adhere to relevant legislation and regulation such as GDPR and the Codes of Fundraising Practice and stay up-to-date and with any changes.
- Ensure ethical practices including transparent and accurate representation of The Haven’s work and achievements.
- Stay informed about changes in grant-making practices and trends.
- Attend relevant workshops, seminars, and training sessions to enhance grant-writing skills.

- To undertake any health and safety training and related activities such as First Aid, Fire Marshall, Duty Hold, Health & Safety representative etc. as required for the post and as required by The Haven Wolverhampton to ensure their Health & Safety Policy is implemented effectively.

Person Specification:
Essential knowledge experience, skills and attributes
- Proven track record in trusts and grants fundraising with track record of successful applications.
- Ability to write compelling, tailored funding applications, exhibiting excellent written communication, grammar, vocabulary, and attention to detail.
- Proficient in researching, analysing, and presenting information from diverse sources in a clear, coherent format tailored to funder needs.
- Skills in organising, planning, and overseeing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Showcase experience in administration tasks, proficient use of Microsoft packages (Teams, Forms, Word, Excel), coupled with numerical and data analysis skills.
- Experience of using a donor management system or CRM.
- Capable of working autonomously and as part of a team, with self-motivation, proactive initiative, and the ability to establish effective relationships.
- Openness to seeking and implementing constructive criticism, demonstrating adaptability and willingness to implement change.
- Familiarity with The Haven Wolverhampton's work and issues related to domestic abuse, showcasing sensitivity and understanding.
- Understanding of GDPR principles and the importance of maintaining confidentiality concerning data.
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
Desirable:
- An understanding of the issues and effects of domestic abuse and/or homelessness among women and children.
Other Requirements:
- Able to work effectively and with others in remote/ hybrid working context, utilising technology such as MS Teams
- Able to travel and work unsociable hours on occasions if required to undertake activities or continued professional development activities
